Matter of perspective

All of the reviews that are negitive have one common thread: They are looking at the show from a B5 point of view. From what I have read, this movie is to draw new fans into the B5 universe. I think Scifi figures that many B5 fans will watch and their main goal is to create a market for new fans. The first review from AICN (sp?) said he had not watched much B5 and felt the movie was good without seeing the effects. All of the reviewers say the special effects are good. Using this logic, I think there is great hope. I am not looking for a B5 movie, I am looking for a movie that will allow the B5 universe to grow and tie-in with Crusade down the road. Anyways, this is long and I am going to bed. I would like to hear what you all think.

It's a fair assessment. I don't feel the telemovie is overly complicated, it's just meant to be set up. I expect JMS wonder along the road, if we get a series.

MPAA: Rated R for bad language, crude humor,
language, sexuality/nudity and drug content.

Given that jms created the concept in 4 days, and then wrote the script in 1 and a half week, he'll obviously have a lot of fleshing out to do should the series become a reality.

Bingo, Drakh.

He wrote that thing in very short order.

Now, he had B5 stewing in his brain for at least a couple *years.*

And from what I've seen, this show is not trying to be B5. If it was, I'd be dissappointed. B5LR is supposed to be its own animal. I expect it to be. I want it to be.

It's not "B5 with the serial numbers filed off," to borrow a phrase. It's just set in the same universe. Which is the same thing as saying "The Cider House Rules" and "The Fast and the Furious" or "The Godfather" is set in the same universe.

That's all there is.
