Hello again everyone!!!

I have only been to 2 cons, and man there are some scarey people out there.

My first con had Michael O'Hare as the GOH. This was great, but in the Q&A season, someone asked him what is was like being Valen. /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif His reply was this: he stood up tall and said 'My name is Valen'.

I wish Sarah Cantrell best of luck

Well, channe my friend, yes you are a geek, as are we all. We are all B5 geeks! /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif I don't know about you, but I am loving it! /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

I haven't been critcizing Myriam herself for the weapons pod scenes, but rather I've criticizing the weapons pod interface itself, and how it was used. Who knows how much of that was scripted, and she was told to do exactly what she was doing? We could tell only if we saw the script and heard the direction she was given. We'll never be privy to this info., but that doesn't really matter. What's done is done. Water under the bridge. What matters is what they do next.

To me, the intense close-ups (headshots) and the scream of the mine destroying scene were way over the top, but maybe it was scripted that way. I tell you, I just watched "Voices of Authority" and it looked like art next to some of TLaDiS.

Recoil: "Lets face it, bottom line, whether or not you liked the pod scenes themselves, she FOUGHT well in them. I think this bodes EXTREMELY well for her character in the Rangers series. You gotta admit, you know Sarah Cantrell will be one tough Ranger in the fight scenes and kick ass better with the best of them."

We've yet to see her in a real, "physical" (ala David vs.Tannier) fight scene. She's got to keep a rein on that temper. The scene where David held her back would have come off better for Myriam if we'd seen her as an expert martial arts fighter before this scene.

KoshN -

I do hope Sarah does get into a few good fights in the series (as long as men can rein in the space-babe, 'give-her-stilettos' radar comments that inevitably shows up whenever a woman fights well. Those with that radar really need to get a life. Sigh.).

Um, stop me before I start engaging in random acts of speculation...!

I truly hope that the gunnery pod, if the show goes to series, will stay included. I didn't get too technical with the operations - I left that for that amazing post on rastbm by the specialist in human-computer interaction, but I really had no problem with the interface, and I thought it was quite admirable to go ahead and film something that the creators knew might flop in this day when TV has no more chutzpah.

I want Santa to give me one for Christmas, actually... /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Sing it brother. Myriam can kick some serious tail! She would totally rock in a knock down brawl. You can see the fire in her eyes. She will give Sarah Cantrell the kind of punch that a character needs to send them over the top. There is some of Ivanova in her........

Chutzpah? I thought you already had some! /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

I mean, what girl wouldn't want a gunnery pod?

"Could be really useful in heavy traffic. "

How true, KoshN! /ubbthreads/images/icons/laugh.gif

Or, when students come around at the end of the semester "begging" for a better grade. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Picture the "Sarah destroying the mines" close-ups and screaming audio as "road rage." /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Overlay that on your morning commute in your imagination. Ahh, I feel better already. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

If Pelzo's watching, I'm thinking of Greentree Hill (Parkway West Inbound) daily gridlock.

I'm sure that this is asked before, Myriam, but I would like to know how difficult it was to hang in those wires when you did the "gunnery pod" -scene? In some interviews some cast members and perhaps Mike Vejar (don't remeber for sure currently) said that you learned to handle yourself in 30 minutes.

In the original series they had some scenes involving the use of wires and stuff, and if I remeber correctly, Bruce Boxleitner (John Sheridan) said that it was hard to make those scenes and it caused some pain in his back. Did something like that happened to you? Hope not. /ubbthreads/images/icons/wink.gif

Hey there TheInfection,

Thanks so much for your question. Let's see where do I begin...Well, firstly I'd like to say that I could never have managed it without the help of our incredible stunt coordinators. They helped me immensely, especially my friend Leslie. She was great!!!

I'm happy to report that I didn't have any back problems but I will say this. It wasn't easy, especially since I needed to repeat all the moves sometimes three or four times, in order to get all the angles covered. I did get the hang of it pretty quickly, but I was constantly adjusting throughout the shoot.

The harness was very tight and at one point I developped some bruises and a welt on my hip. I thought it would never go away but thankfully it did.

Although some moments worked better than others I'm extremely proud of what we were able to accomplish. We all worked very hard on these sequences. It was a lot of fun but also a lot of work. Thank you so much for your interest, I look forward to getting back up there and making it even better. (Big Smile)

Just call me the eternal optimist!!!

Take care, Myriam.

Oh and I forgot to ask...Could you all tell me how to get those smilie faces in my posts.

I am as you all know computer illiterate. Please help.

Big Thank you. Myriam.

It's in the FAQ (between "Who's Online" and "Logout" in the top menu) under "How can I use HTML in my posts?"

There's lots of other nice stuff in that area of the FAQ, too.

Hopefully THIS doesnt seem too offensive, but the FAQ is one of the links at the top of the message board. I know lots of people who dont know what a FAQ is, that is the only reason I figured it best to point it out. Click on the FAQ link at the top of the messageboard, and look to where KoshN pointed you. That should help.

Hi Myrian,

>>The harness was very tight and at one point I developped some bruises and a welt on my hip. I thought it would never go away but thankfully it did. <<

We used to call those "raspberries" back when I was young and foolish, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes in flight. But, those do go away with time. <g>

I suspect there are a large number of fans looking forward to your getting back up there. <LOL>

>>Just call me the eternal optimist!!!<<

Guess we all are.

In my book, there is nothing wrong with being an optimist! /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Hiya, Myriam, and the others from this board who were planning on attending I-Con!

Well, I'm not going to the convention after all. The money I had set aside for tickets, hotel, and gas (and then some) just went to fix the the Starfury's crankshaft seal, front CV boots, and brakes. Rats! Rats, rats, and more rats!

Enjoy yourself at the con, and be sure to go see Tom Smith when he plays in concert. He's hilarious. /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

I'm *very* close to renaming my car after the Liandra. Classic lines and gorgeous design, but you have to kick things to make them work. And the engine doesn't work. *grin, sigh*
