Why are we not touching on other subjects?

I hope it's not just me, but I'm a bit upset that JMS isn't exploring touching on the subject of the Telepath war at all in movies or potential episodes. From what I understand, unless I'm wrong, Legend of the Rangers is taking place AFTER the telepath war, where Lennier and Lyta died. I know TONS of people that would love to see that subject touched on. I want to know how Lennier and Lyta bought it, and how the whole thing ended, and what happened after when they set up thee Bureau of Telepath Integration and all that. If there are books, someone please tell me, because I'd like to read them, but I'm sure most of you would agree that a great deal of people don't want to read the books, they want to SEE the action.

We don't actually know when the Telepath War took place, only the approximate date. This was discussed on another thread and I think it was inferred that if Rangers goes to a series and lasts five years, it would cover a lot of the missing information.

It has long been rumored that JMS wants to keep the telepath war in the background for now because it would be his preference as the plot for a movie. However, that's down the road a way.

I don't think that the Tepe War has been written about in books, but I could be wrong. JMS can only tell one story at a time, and maybe he's just waiting for the right time to tell the story...or he's just saving the best for last.

And who said that JMS isn't thinking about dealing with the Telepath War in "movies"? It is precisely in order to save it for a possible feature film that JMS has "written around" it in Crusade, the short stories, the three trilogies, and now the Rangers movie and possible series. If Rangers becomes a series and does well JMS knows that he'll have the best chance he's had since the early days of Crusade to do a big screen B5 adventure.

He's selected the Telepath War as the story that will allow him to use the greatest number of regulars from the original series, and as the "stand-alone" story most likely to appeal to the greatest number of non-B5 fans. (Something critical to the success of any theatrical film based on a TV series.)

Joe

Around the time that shooting started on Rangers, JMS said that the Teep War begins in 2264 and ends in 2265. Rangers is set in 2265, but all indications are that it happens a few months after the end of the war. Even if it doesn't, it will probably be very close to the end, and the Liandra's mission in the pilot will likely have nothing to do with it. By the time of the first season the war is almost certain to be over.

And, come on - any B5 fan worth her salt knows who died in the Teep War, what happened to our dear friend Bester, and how things turned out (Matheson, anybody?)

Let's see something new, first!

What about "his" salt?

Myself, I'd love to see/read/hear any B5 story JMS decides to present -- and just because I know Rosebud is a sled doesn't mean I don't want to see Citizen Kane again.
