Which episode was it that had the Psi Corp Stealth Furys hiding under the belly of a transport waiting the destroy some Babylon 5 Furys?

"Epiphanies" is where Ivanova rescues the Earth patrol from the Omega Squadron ambush.

They weren't really "Stealth" starfurys; they just had a different paintjob to indicate that they were a Paid Corps squadron.

If I read it right the Black Omega Squadron set up by Bester for the telepaths are the stealth furies. Going by the date of this the first appearance would be the season 1 episode with ironheart in it (Mind Wars!! – can’t remember the title).

Correct, there are several different kinds of starfuries and models
of fighters; the standard lightweight version used at B5; the more stealth
oriented Black Omega fighters; and in the two-parter, you'll see the heavy
military class, with turrets fore and aft, and pilots fore and aft.

The heavy military class with the fore and aft pilots (seen in, A Voice In The Wilderness) that jms also mentions is NOT the Badger Starfury – though Chameleon and later Mongoose and every tech site identify it as such. The Badger Starfury was never seen on screen, but some concepts for it can be found here.

Just re-read the original question . . . .. . . . . . and actually read it this time (rather than just the thread title). Yeah, as Jan said, Epiphanies is the episode with the buggers stuck under a transport.

I don't recall any scene where the Black Omega starfurys were shown to have any stealth capabilities (e.g. being hard to target like the Minbari fighters in "There All the Honor Lies.").

I think your right, I can’t remember any on screen sequences or dialogue indicating that the Black Omega fighters were particularly stealthy. The only reference I know of is the jms quote shown above - and it's been repeated on various reference sites. But maybe it appears in one of the novels or the official B5 mags. . . . . . Maybe Mongoose did something with the suggestion.

I did ask Ron about it a while back (funnily enough) when talking about design variants and how they were approached, but he knew bugger all about it – from his point of view (as you correctly said earlier) different textures were used and that’s about it.
