What's in a Wing

Re: What\'s in a Wing

About Ivanova in "Signs and Portents" -- She has two fighters peel off right at the beginning, IIRC, to guard the jumpgate. Maybe they came back seperately.

True but she left them guarding the jump gate. Same one she have to use to return to B5. So is illogical for her telling them to stay back. There could be a treat of raiders comming back trough the JG but that imposible because Siclair have the JG locked.

Did you notice the different methodes that the First Ones use to "jump". One of the races found by Lorien and Ivanova use like a red, orange fire-phasing methode, like the shadows.

2 peeled off, and 7 remained... when Ivanova and the other 6 furies were pursuing the Raiders, Sinclair said "they want you away from the station", so naturally, all the furies would return as quickly as possible. The two at the jump gate, therefore, would have had a head-start and arrive at B5 well before the other 7 furies.

Did you saw the JG activating while Garibaldi's squadron fights the raiders? Because I didn't. Actually it never opens until Sinclair unlock the JG and Ivanova came trough. Remember? " Now we close the box "... Sinclair was cornering the raiders and need the surprise factor.

Something that I notice is that one of the First Ones battleships appears from nowere at the battle of Corina. I'm talking about the one that looks like a trident. No jump point, no hyperflux, no phasing. If only we have the chance to see more about the first ones!!!

Good catch. Hmm... I think we have an effects glitch here, boys and girls.

Another nice catch, but I'm not terribly surprised that you saw this one. Your enthusiasm for Those That Came Before is . . . impressive.

Re: What\'s in a Wing

You can only show "so much" on screen, ESPECIALLY during huge, epic battle scenes.

Rather than trying to find errors in the show, I'd rather believe that some of these events that make the show work happen off screen.

Is it too hard to believe that the jump gate opened, and two star furies joined the battle while Garibaldi & co were fighting, not to mention the shots of station weaponry and C&C?

Also, too know too much about the first ones would NOT be good, IMHO... it would remove some of the mystery of them, and the great thing about the first ones is everyone can draw their own opinions about their motives without putting them into a box.

Re: What\'s in a Wing

apparantly on the dvd jms said that was a glitch in a yv cast of one of the episodes (chrysalis) when londo leaves the garden and walks through an exit sign !!!

Re: What\'s in a Wing

I actually still have this on tape somewhere, Londo and the exit sign with missing CGI... and I believe there's a screenshot on the Lurker's Guide Chrysalis episode page.

Cheers,

Re: What\'s in a Wing

Hah! I don't know if anyone cares anymore, but I just rewatched Signs and Portents. It's definitely an effects glitch when Ivanova comes through the jumpgate. In the first, rather fuzzy shot against the background of the jumpgate, there are definitely all nine StarFuries. But the next shot, from behind the squadron, shows only seven.

Another goof I just caught -- the raider shoots one of the Centauri bodyguards, but the other one's sitll alive and briefly visible in the next cut. Then the raider says "hide these bodies." Two shots fired, one misses, only one guard down, and magically the second keels over. I never thought those guards were worth much anyway, but that's just bad!

Just goes to show that the devil's in the details.
