The Sinclair to Sheridan Switch

Right now I'm watching YouTube Reactors watch Babylon 5 for the first time. And I'm getting a kick out of their reactions to Sinclair being replaced by Sheridan at the beginning of Season 2. Their reactions were about the same as mine. "What happened to Sinclair?!?!!" And then they warm up to Sheridan. It's like a Right of Passage for people discovering Babylon 5 for the first time.

I'm really pleased that almost all the reactors love Sinclair (fans were definitely split 50/50 back in the day) so I am nervous whenever the reactors get to that point. Funnylilgal is going to be very upset when it happens!

I remember it being spoiled for me about a week or two before Points of Departure aired here in the UK, I think I learned of the switch in the first issue of DC's Babylon 5 comics. But I really liked Bruce Boxleitner from Tron, so I was comfortable with the change. And JMS made no secret of the fact that we'd be hooking back up with Sinclair further down the line, whereas today we hide that information from the YouTube reactors! When he reappears in The Coming of Shadows their surprise and joy is great to watch!

If they're watching it as it airs on YouTube, today they just uploaded the Season One finale, Chrysalis. So there may be several of those types of reactions coming up very soon.
