Funny thing I noticed when they aired a great documentary about Stanley Kubrick. In shining the dialogue between Jack and the previous caretaker/ghost/hallusination goes like this:
"But you're the caretaker."
"No, you are the caretaker. You have always been. I... have always been here."
Not exactly accurate as I pulled it from my memory, but still interesting.... Can't remember if that bit was also in the book.
