Hi everyone,
This isn't Babylon 5 related, so I hope this is the right section for it.
I've been developing an independent science-fiction universe called FARBLOOD, and I thought some people here who enjoy long-form science fiction, unfamiliar worlds and expedition stories might find this interesting.
One of the things that fascinates me most about science fiction is what happens after people finally reach somewhere unknown.
You can travel across enormous distances, but the really interesting moment begins when the hatch opens and suddenly nobody knows the rules anymore.
What is alive out there?
Has someone been there before?
What happened before you arrived?
And how much can you actually understand from the first things you see?
That idea is central to STARSEEK.
Six expedition ships leave Earth on separate missions. Each follows its own path, reaches different worlds and develops into a separate storyline. STARSEEK 01 follows the ASCENT and its crew.
The story already exists as a series of illustrated science-fiction books, and recently I wanted to find out whether I could translate that visual world into an actual cinematic sequence rather than simply animate the illustrations.
The result is this 4:49-minute Proof of Concept. It shows a later moment from STARSEEK 01: the final phase of a landing on an unknown planet, the opening of the shuttle ramp and the first human contact with the surface.
Generative image and video tools are part of the production process, alongside my own story and worldbuilding, shot planning, editing, sound design and overall direction.
I'd be interested in what experienced science-fiction viewers think of it — particularly whether the slow build toward the first step works, and whether Candidate 01 feels like a place you'd actually want to know more about.
