Show off your B5 collectibles

Those B5-miniatures are way cool, great detail and style! I wish I knew someone with skill who could paint them for me, then I would seriously consider getting a bunch of them. I want someone to do them justice.

If you ever find someone who could paint them, let me know!

They've released more characters since I last posted, including a Shadow!

If I was correctly able to add two images, was searching today through my disorganized shelf of B5 Stuff to locate/reunite all six of the Complete Costume Cards since C2 and C6 were hiding in an envelope behind some books rather than hanging out with the other four cards.

While disassembling things to seek out the pesky card-containing envelope, found the B5 comics, and among them was a 4-signature issue #1. However the original ebay-seller-person had also included four photos showing the comic in the process-ish of being signed by the four B5 actors. The comic is certainly nice, but I'd say the photos are nicer. 😀

That's awesome - a really cool idea taking the photos while they signing! Looks like they were taken at different cons (in the Rick Biggs picture, we can see the Andreas Katsulas photo, so that must have been a different con).

I didn't even notice the Andreas picture-in-the-picture 😲 so they must have lugged that comic (and the little red bag?) to multiple events and probably used an actual camera (90s) for the pictures.

So far as 2026 goes, at a convention last month I asked a few handlers about taking pictures of Guests at their signing tables and was told even taking a picture from ten feet away would be an additional charge and that items that aren't 8x10 photos (ex: comics) could cost more to sign than a traditional photo.

It's just another example of how fandom is taken advantage of, though I don't think it's anything new when it comes to autographs. Nearly 20 years ago I met Buzz Aldrin at an autograph convention in London. He charged £100 for a plain autograph, another £5 to write 'Apollo 11', another £10 to personalise it, and so on. I didn't mind the £100 as he was the second man on the moon and people charge a lot for his autograph on the secondary market, but the rest was a bit cheeky, especially as in the room next door Alan Bean was doing personalised autographs with messages for £40.

Now at cons they have the photograph sessions where they charge a fortune to have your picture taken with the celebrity (I've done this only twice, with Buzz Aldrin and William Shatner, both of whom have now been into space!) so you're not allowed to take pictures at the autograph table anymore because they want to charge for the professional photography session instead.

I haven't been to a con in years and years because they are too expensive now. I miss the days when autographs were £20 across the board and everything was more relaxed.
