I've got the 1998 SE edition in an old box. I think they originally released the old version, but after a while re-released it as the SE, but didn't change the box. So there are two versions, the old and the new, floating around out there in identical boxes.
I got mine from HMV a few years back. I imagine HMV will only stock the newer, SE versions.

Add to that that the version released in e.g. Germany and Norway was the old version.... It's pretty much hit-or-miss.
