What/who did JMS use for inspiration for Zathras? He is such a unique character in B5 that I was wondering how he came about.

JMS wrote in one of the script books that Zathras' style of speech was based on his grandmother. I don't think the entire character was based on her, though.

It's all in the way you pronounce "Grandma".
