Somehow, we've got to get Crusade off square one, and get...

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Production
4000 Warner Blvd.
Burbank, CA 91522

...to take renewed interest in the show.

Here is part of a letter I just wrote to them (mailing today).

For the last five weeks, two Warner Brothers shows, Crusade and Brimstone, have been the subject of quite a bit of debate at "Science Fiction Weekly," http://www.scifi.com/sfw/ (the online news magazine of SCI-FI.COM). Please check out the following links and letters:

Attachment 2 is my submission which did not make it into the issue. I thought
they'd have edited out the second point, but apparently it was a disqualifier.

"All Genre Viewers Are Losers" (losers not in the "sarcastic" sense)

Attachment 3 is my submission for 07/07/2003 issue of Sci-Fi Weekly- http://www.scifi.com/sfw/issue324/letters.html

It's unfortunate for me, but most of my favorite sci-fi series seem to be Warner Bros. Domestic Television productions, and The Sci-Fi Channel seems to be 100% dead-set against buying anything that is a Warner Bros. Domestic Television production. There has got to be some way to get Warner Brothers sci-fi shows back in production and on the air.

Sad but true there is always hope for more Crusade ,

Sad but true. There is always hope for more Crusade. :) (Spoken like somebody who hopes to see more Crusade.)

...or...

Sad but true, there is always hope for more Crusade. :( (Spoken like somebody who thinks Crusade was awful and that it'll arise and be awful some more, because awful stuff seems to thrive, especially on Sci-Fi Channel.)

Just a leeeetle, ambiguous. Punctuation means everything here.

Maybe I've been spending too much time in rast.

I want more Crusade too!! :(

I feel as an overall story, Crusade would be better than B5, and I love B5.

Thanks,

Cerberus

Good to see they printed it, and good points well made. I hadn't realised just how much you disliked LOTR:TLADIS
:)

:( I want more Crusade!!!!

It would appear that JMS wants more, too, but there's not much he can do about it :(

From JMS at rec.arts.sf.tv.babylon5.moderated. The part in quotes is the question a previous poster asked.

"... the real question is... would JMS like to stop eating and paying his bills, just to get Crusade back"

Thing is, of course, there's zip that I can *do* that would achieve that result. I can stand outside WB and hold my breath until I turn blue, but that's about it. If a network were to come to them and ask for it, that's one
thing...but the studio owns Crusade, and without a compelling marketplace and an interested buyer, there's nothing they can or will do in the matter.

(Which goes to the note some people post asking why I don't write in this area anymore, do I not care about it. Yeah, of course I do, but WB owns it, and if I went otf and started writing stories in that universe I'd be infringing their ownership.)

A little depressing :(

I've been holding back. I'm not repressed anymore. ;)

"I see they trained you well back home."
"Yeah, they always said I was carrying around a lot of repressed anger."
"And?"
"I'm not repressed anymore."

I love both B5 and Crusade equally,JMS did a great job but was not really appreciated. Anyway, they are both great stories and I too felt that Crusade was better,if it went on,it would most certainly be the best show on TV.
Where is the great hope Galen was talking about?
Actually, the thing I liked about B5 was human/alien nature.....not just because I love aliens and space battle
:D

:D :D :D One of my favourite scenes along with "You get more from a kind word and a 2 by 4, than from a kind word alone" Or something like that :D

Ok, so now I spotted the search function

BINGO!

I just searched for "repressed" and there it was.

'You can get more with a kind word and a two-by-four than you can with just a kind word.'

I was closer than I'd expected :D

Very good. ;)

Now, on searches, I wish I could do a Boolean "AND" in JMSNews.

I got a letter in Sci-Fi Weekly #324:

I almost knew that was you when I read it as you always make your thoughts clear on those subjects here.

I couldn't agree more about the absurdity of a botched pilot for a new series instead of rebooting Crusade.
