It was announced at Sci-fi Wire that a new telemovie will be created based in the Babylon 5 universe.
The telemovie is called Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers, and will be written and executive produced by J. Michael Straczynski. Douglas Netter will also executive produced the production.
The story will focus on the legendary Ranger fleet—comprising of Humans and Minbari—as it attempts to restore order to hundreds of civilizations devastated by the Shadow war. Babylon 5 characters may appear in the telemovie, but that hasn't been confirmed.
B5LR will air on the Sci-Fi Channel in the US later this year. If it is a success, a series may then be produced.
