Chapter 20 Discovery

"What?" Furrell asked in disbelief.

Nerrel realized what came out of his mouth and he blushed furiously. "I love her."

"In Valen’s name, Nerrel! You are doing it again! You’re trying to take her away!" Furrell cried.

"No! I know that she loves you and that you love her. This…this is more like…a crush. I know that she will never love me."

"Oh, Nerrel-" Furrell groaned.

"Please don’t tell her! I don’t want her to know. I want you two to have a wonderful relationship."

"Do you mean it, Nerrel?"

"I do." Nerrel said quietly.

Furrell smiled. "Thank you. I will not tell her."

The two brothers left the room. Latiya was found at the computer, looking over the data crystal. Furrell and Nerrel walked over to see what she was looking at. Latiya felt a hand in her shoulder. She turned to see her friends.

"What is this?" Nerrel asked.

"The files Sect Turvall gave Furrell. The voice…it sounds so familiar to me."

"We will figure it out later. Are you okay now?" Furrell said.

"Yes, I’m fine." Latiya replied.

"Come, let’s get something to eat. We will worry about this after we eat." Furrell said.

"Okay, fine." Latiya said reluctantly.

"Nerrel told me something very interesting today." Furrell said that night as Latiya curled up beside him.

"And, what was that?" Latiya inquired.

"He loves you."

"He what?" Latiya asked in disbelief.

"He loves you. I did not believe it at first, but…"

"In Valen’s name," was all Latiya could say.

There was silence for a few minutes.

"What do you think about the whole thing?"

"Please do not tell him that I know, Furrell. Please don’t…for his sake and mine.

"All right. I will not tell him. Nerrel amazes me sometimes. He just acts so childish."

Latiya turned to phrase in her head. She gasped and sat up in horror. "I know that voice! It was Tannia!"

"What are you talking about?" Furrell asked.

"The data crystal…the voice…it was Tannia! Tannia was the one that abducted the Sheridans!"
