    Season 5 orangey-ness

You have to watch the earlier episodes really (worst offender Secrets of the Soul).. I made an avatar :)

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

    Maybe, but I smell a retcon.. :)

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

I did see that explained somewhere (in one of the novels perhaps?).. It means he was able to compute a clever series of light-speed hops that got him round all the navigational hazards at Kessel but covered less than 12 parsecs distance.. But doubtless in reality Lucas simply made a slip :)

    Season 5 orangey-ness

Although this doesn't really help to prove my point because SiL was completed at the end of season 4, if you compare Sheridan's complexion in RW7427's avatar to his complexion in Recoil's avatar, you get some idea of how I perceive most of season 5... Something that just occurred to me. I know...

    B5:TLT Actual DISCUSSION Thread

Re: Actual B5:TLT News Well, to get back to speculating on on JMS' latest - he said that the title sequence would incorporate all the major characters - which I assumed meant that it incorporated clips from the original series (TOS? :)). But then I remembered that TLT is being done in Hi-def -...

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Now I'm wondering if G'kar was tempted to make any personal modifications to his new ship after setting out to explore the galaxy with Lyta.. Did he paint spots on the hull and deck out the interior with red light, curtains and candles? Did he and Lyta argue over decor, whose turn it was to...

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Given everyone is always banging on about how much more diverse the humans are than everyone else, perhaps the fact that their ships look fairly no-nonsense and anonymous is actually perfectly apt.. Besides, supposing you had to design a ship incorporating distinctly human physical...

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

I do like the way that you can look at any ship in B5 and instantly tell which of the major races built it. One exception might be those Narn dreadnoughts from Season 1, which were replaced by the more familiar heavy cruisers in Season 2. Those looked to me like they might have been built by...

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Maybe it's more a question of whether the Vorlon ships were squid before they were Vorlon ships..

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

I can remember a quote from Ron Thornton in an Amiga Format interview circa 1995 where he admitted stealing some of his inspiration for ships from fruit and veg.. So if anyone's ever wondered why a Vorlon shuttle resembles a pomegranate and the Drazi sunhawk seems to be powered by corn on the cob..

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Well the pop-up window on the front is very, very reminiscent of the bridge windows on the originalt BSG (not the new one, which doesn't have windows), as is the general shape..

    Season 5 orangey-ness

Everyone's hair has a russet tint.. Flesh tones are often deep orange (even by normal LA standards :)). Backgrounds are generally brown and murky, especially in the early part of the season (seems to peak in Secrets of the Soul). Looks to me almost like they went for an orange theme initially...

    Season 5 orangey-ness

Just started watching season 5 of 24 on DVD, and couldn't help noticing that just like Season 5 of B5 everything looks very orange. Does anyone know how/why this happens? It's something that's bugged me since forever. I theorised that it might have been the lighting, the film stock, deliberate...

    Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Yeah, it's very true. In much the same way the Earth Force Omega class Destroyer bears a startling resemblence to the Leonov from 2010, and the Starfury might just be the lovechild of an X-Wing and a Tie Fighter..

    B5 blooper?

Getting back to the subject of bloopers, of course another well known one is that the sleeve of future Delenn's costume glimpsed in Babylon Squared clearly doesn't match her costume in War Without End. This blooper was at least partly the reason that such a song and dance is made about getting...

    B5 blooper?

I always thought that guy (Delvientos was the character's name, and the Lurker's Guide says he was played by Jose Rey) bore a passing resemblance to the Great Maker himself..

    B5:TLT Actual DISCUSSION Thread

Re: Actual B5:TLT News Two threads is a good idea. At the moment I want a way to find the latest actual news fast, but at the same time it's difficult to resist the temptation to comment on the latest snippet which can easily lead to full blown discussion. Maybe the actual news posts could be...

    B5:TLT Actual DISCUSSION Thread

Re: Actual B5:TLT News Perhaps something simple, like each of them writing or directing an episode of each other's shows, under the strict understanding of who has executive control in each case, so if it doesn't work out, no one loses.. JMS allowed Neil Gaiman to write an episode of B5. Kind...

    B5:TLT Actual DISCUSSION Thread

Re: Actual B5:TLT News Agreed, I should have said 'nearly'. Another nice compromise is fully-CG-but-based-on-a-human-performance like Andy Serkis as Gollum or Bill Nighy as Davy Jones.
