DelRey Update - B5 Short Story Anth., Novels, etc.

Re: Morons Personally, I avoided the B5 novels when they first came out. I read the first one ("Voices" I think it was) and was not impressed and figured the rest were like the glut of "Trek" books out there, published to take advantage of the "brand name" and generally sucking pond water. The...

    Big B5 update from jms!!!

Though I hate to bring up "Star Trek", the first film was released, if I remember correctly, in 1979, ten years after the series went off the air. And that was in the days befor "Trek" became a "brand name". Personally, I would like to see anything B5, as long as it has the same high quality...

Star Wars IV, V & VI DVDs

When is Episode III due out? Lucas has always mantained that IV, V and VI won't come out before III is out on DVD. Still great news and about bloody time. :D

DelRey Update - B5 Short Story Anth., Novels, etc.

Re: Morons Having only heard about the short stories and never read them, I would love to see a B5 anthology. Mainly because I want to read the Ivanova/Marcus stories. I'm a sucker for romance (yeah, a straight guy that's a sucker for romance) and wanted those two to get together.

    Best episode to convert newbies

Here's a different type of questions for all and sundry; what episode(s) would you pick to show to those who haven't got a clue yet about how good this show is? All seasons and movies are open for suggestions.

    Big B5 update from jms!!!

You really think he would do that? With the possibilty of something new in the works? Since TNT is owned by WB, wouldn't that be like cutting his own throat?

    Big B5 update from jms!!!

The problem I see with a Crusade box set is the odd number of episodes. 13 doesn't break down evenly and I can't see then putting one episode on a single disc. They would have to add a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff to balance it out. Which brings up another question; how much behind-the-scenes...

The Two Towers - Extended Edition (spoilers)

Finally made my way through both Extended Editions and loved both. All the added material is great, this has got to be the best and most documented movie ever. My only question is; how the hell ae they going to top this? Can't wait to see.

    Multi-Role Actors

There was actually a small group of actors that formed the informal "B5 Repertory Company". They played mostly alien characters. This was done because making a head cast of an actor is costly and it is cheaper to use an actor whose head cast you already have. The company consisted of: Jennifer...

Got My R2 Season 3 DVD

I must be an R2 thing, 'cause I get the complete sign. Why does WB seem to enjoy jerking R2 buyers around? This not the first complaint I've heard about R2 versions. In fact, this is the second one today .

    Embarrasing typo in S3 R2

I have the R1 version and I checked my copy. It says "Minbari". You must have a bad copy. Send it to JMS. Knowing how he feels about such goofs, it will be fun to see his head explode. ;) Just kidding.

    Architecture of Vorlons/Shadows

While watching something else, a strange fact struck me about the architecture of the Vorlons and the Shadows. The Vorlons, who represent Order, have a rather free-flowing look to their ships, due to their use of organic technology. The Shadows, who represent Chaos, have a rigid type of...

The Two Towers - Extended Edition (spoilers)

Picked up both FOTR and TTT extended editions the other day and am (slowly) making my way through them. IMHO, this is what the DVD format was made for; zillions of extras, cut scenes fit back in seemlessly to the film. I mean isn't that one of the first or second things you look for on a DVD...

    RIP Michael Kamen

If I'm not mistaken, he also did the orchestral work on Pink Floyd's "The Wall" and "The Final Cut". Damn shame.

    Jonathan Brandis dead at 27

He was also the younger version of "Stuttering Bill" in Stephen King's IT miniseries on TV a few years ago.

    DVDs make me angry

According to TVShowsOn DVD.com Buffy Season 5 is set for release on 9 December 2003 and Season 6 for 6 July 2004. I can't wait. I've said many other places that B5 and Buffy were the best and most intelligently written shows (in different ways) on TV.

    Indy Jones DVD set

Has anyone else got this set yet? I have to give Lucas and Co. a round of applause, the picture transfer is beautifully done. The movies have never looked so great. Now, we just need the first three "Star Wars" movies on DVD. Please, George, pretty please? :D

    Dangerous Female (Maltese Falcon 1931)

Being someone that thinks Bogart should be elevated to godhood, I agree that we have no one that is near the level of Bogey or any actor or actress from that era. if you like old tiime movies and ones with Bogey in particular, check out "To Have and Have Not" or "The Big Sleep". In the second...

Got My R2 Season 3 DVD

Maybe it's just the dumb luck I have on occasion, but I, so far (knock on wood), haven't had a problem with any of the discs. Only on was loose and that was in S3, which I bought in the store, the other two came from Amazon and where fine. Anybody else have that problem?
