The Actor Game

The other night my sister and I are hanging out flipping channels. I come across some religios channel (shudder) and it's some movie premier. Who comes out of a limo but Catherine Sakai herself. As I exclaim, "That's Catherine Sakai from season 1 of Babylon 5!," my sister looks at me as if I'm the dork I am. I come back to the channel later and it's some movie with her in it. I didn't watch enough to get what it's about, but since it was on the religous channel, I'm sure it has dome meaningful "message."

Anyone else know what I'm talking about?

No, I don't watch those kind of channels.

But her name is Julia Nickson, and she has appeared in many things. I looked her up on imdb, and there are no titles that sound at all religious. Maybe it was the 1998 movie Devil in the Flesh that she was in.

The movie you probably saw was "China Cry" a "true miracle" story set during the Communist takeover of China.

Flipping by those channels, you may also see William Edgars himself (Efram Zimbalist Jr) reading from the bible from time to time.

This was one. No.... *tsk tsk*
No. Not good.
Not supposed to mention... "one", or... THE one.
Hmmmm.
You never heard that."

AND

I believe her father in the movie was played by James Shigata, who played Taro Isogi (sp?) in "A Spider in the Web".

Yes, come to think of it, it may have said "China Cry" on the on the theater during the "red carpet" segment.

I caught part of a very strange film called Heaven's Tears on cable the other evening, and saw Beata Pozniak, aka President Luchenko, playing the seriously twisted sister of a Nazi officer who was in love with a Jewish girl. She didn't look too presidential, either.

Well, tonight, I caught a Law-N-Order rerun and realized that one of the guest actors was Michael O'Hare.

It's a tribute to O'Hare's talent that I didn't realize it was Him until his third appearance on the screen.

He came across as such a completely different person, I had to look three times.
That's Talent.
Most actors, we take one look and Know who it is.
O'Hare has that rare ability to become a Different Person in each role he plays.

This was the episode where he played a guy who has been thinking for a couple years that he was responsible for the death of his 5 year old daughter in a house fire.
Then, by accident, the police find out that Someone Else was responsible and that the fire was Arson.
