It's not just the ending. The entire film was grossly recut to be VERY different from Welles' original cut. It's supposed to be a very bleak film about the family, and the recut did what it could to make it into a light, funny sort of film, just the opposite from what Welles intended. Sadly...

Well, he did quit Psycorps out of disgust at killing normals, is non-violent, doesn't want to kill normals. But Psycorps, that he despises, and many normals, want to kill him and his band. There is that difference.

I think that they should play it straight, but have a normal sense of humor. This film was just schlock, maybe it would appeal to preteen boys, if they weren't too smart. I wish I'd seen Black Swan instead, even if you didn't like it. It had to be be better than The G.H.

I get MGMHD, but not the others. They own MGM films from certain years. According to wikipedia, they own 1,200 films mastered in HD.
