    Hi-Resolution Images

If anyone has access to high-res files, I'd be interested too. The best alternative I can think of is that you can buy photo prints online on eBay, 8x10 size, the kind of prints you get at convention signings, and scan the prints in to create a high-res tiff. Alternatively, if it doesn't have to...

    What are You Watching?

Unfortunately Foundation's second episode wasn't very good, full of all the tropes of modern TV that I dislike. Gone are the clarity of storytelling and awe-inspiring spectacle of the first episode. Instead there's mumbling and inaudible dialogue, flat and boring characters, a camera that won't...

    What are You Watching?

I've started watching Foundation. Just one episode in, and while I was unsure about it for the first 20 minutes when it all felt pretty derivative, it grew on me and by the end when the star bridge came crashing down, I was hooked. For context, I've read Asimov's books.

    Netflix acquires Warner Brothers

Maybe as a sequel, with JMS' blessing, there might be an opportunity for another creator. But a remake under someone else would be unconscionable to me. I haven't seen Andor, but I didn't like Rogue One.

    Netflix acquires Warner Brothers

Frankly, I'd rather they just don't touch B5. If you want to bring in new people, have them create something new of their own rather than hang on the coattails of others. I'm fed up of remakes and reboots that don't have the soul of the original. Like it or not (and legalities of WB owning it...

    What are You Watching?

I've been doing the same with the last four episodes of Miami Vice. I thought season 4 was terrible, but season 5 has been an improvement, though not a patch on the first three seasons. For me it's very much a show to watch in the summer, so I'll probably get round to them next year! The ending...

    Show off your B5 collectibles

I've recently been getting these little 3D-printed B5 miniatures. They're designed by someone calling themselves Black Remnant and I bought them from the 3D Argent online store. They're about the size of Warhammer miniatures and the ones I've got so far are Kosh, Sheridan, Garibaldi and Sinclair...

    Tristan Rogers has died

So he was about 20 years older than Claudia Christian. I never felt they seemed remotely compatible in The War Prayer. Malcolm Biggs definitely would have joined Nightwatch though – I can imagine Clark giving him a pardon and Nightwatch recruiting all the ex Home Guard people.

Official: Babylon 5 coming to Blu-ray in December

Despite some moans from people about the blu-rays, to me this boxset is a blessing. I'm tempted to get a second set myself just as insurance!

    Show off your B5 collectibles

I'm not sure if it is exactly the same design, but there was a thread on Eurobricks with details on how to get the instructions. Would cost a small fortune in bricks, I imagine https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/forums/topic/171687-instructions-babylon-5-omega-class-destroyer/#comment-3112940...

    What are You Watching?

I saw it this weekend too and like you I did not care for it. It committed the cardinal sin of making a dinosaur film boring. The previous film, Dominion, wasn't very good, but at least it was fun and there was a lot of charisma from both the old and new cast. I didn't care about any of the...

    Aki Aleong Passed Away

There's a line in And Now For a Word that describes Hidoshi as "former senator". I agree with Looney, as good an actress as Carolyn Seymour is, it might have resonated more in Endgame if it had been Hidoshi rather than some random senator.

    JMS Moving to the UK

Dr Who has only just finished its latest season at the end of May and it is streamed internationally by Disney+, who bought the rights a couple of years ago. The current show runner is Russell Davies, who launched the reboot of the show about 20 years ago and recently came back.

    JMS Moving to the UK

I agree with much of this. I've never particularly liked Dr Who – I find the old stuff schlocky (except Terrance Dicks' novels, which kind of proves its not the concept but the execution on TV I don't like) and I find the new stuff is aiming itself at the middle-of-the-road, trendy, non-SF fan...

    What are You Watching?

Kind of like Into the Fire then! (That's not a criticism, btw) After I graduated from Star Trek and Star Wars tie-ins as a teen, I progressed into the triumvirate of Asimov, Clarke and Heinlein. I enjoyed Asimov at the time, but I find his work a bit dated now, whereas I think Clarke and to...

    Peter David has died

I've yet to read Imzadi or its sequels, but they're on my list to read one day, and it sounds like I may need to pick up the CD of the audiobook too (physical media all the way, baby). I did enjoy Q In Law – somehow Peter David made a story featuring both Q and Lwaxana entertaining!

    Babylon 5 Trading Cards

Wow, I never even knew those gold cards existed! Amazing to discover new things, even if those cards are forever out of my reach! Previews is the monthly magazine from Diamond Comics, who have the monopoly on distributing comics to comic shops and collectors (and who are currently in financial...

    Peter David has died

Peter David has died at 68 https://www.ign.com/articles/peter-david-acclaimed-incredible-hulk-and-x-factor-writer-has-died I knew of him from his Star Trek novels before I saw B5. I also didn't realise how young he was when he was writing those and B5 in the 90s.

    JMS Moving to the UK

I don't think B5 has ever been a 'huge' hit. But Warners have done this before, stumping up money to do something a bit different – The Lost Tales – and saying it sold well but subsequently losing interest. But both The Lost Tales and The Road Home were 'straight to video', which these days is...

    What are You Watching?

To be honest, I haven't kept up with the most recent specials and series. I think the first nine (?) seasons were made by the BBC, and then there was a long gap before they began making more, I've watched a few of them but felt something was lacking. It was never quite the same show to me after...
