    Matt Smith Dr Who

I personally think Curtis went about the episode in a similar way to how James Cameron approached Terminator (by which I mean that he had an original concept that I believe was essentially the last 10 minutes of the episode, and structured the rest of the script into bringing that about). Yes...

Fry basically said that Doctor Who was "just for kids" in a speech at Bafta recently. Storm in a teacup really because he himself actually likes the show and even wrote a script for series 2 that got sidelined by RTD for being too ambitious so early on.

However AD, if you weren't referring to The Pandorica Opens but rather to Vincent and the Doctor... I heartily agree also and am not ashamed to say that I was crying at the end of the episode. I've also added the Athlete track "Chances" to my iPod.

The penultimate one? The Pandorica Opens? You are not just whistling dixie on that! How bleak... I think Stephen Fry's BAFTA speech and RTD's keyboard just utterly got pwned! I'm really anxious, fraught, and eager in equal measures to see the conclusion.

I'm waiting for the soundtrack to series 5 and the specials soundtracks to be released. It would be criminal not to have some of the music to The End of Time available... I also like the Eleventh Doctor's theme and Vincent's theme from Vincent and the Doctor (and yes I already bagged Chances by...

Words cannot barely express my surly mood at the off topicness.:klingon::rolleyes::p;)

Barrowman famously was turned down for the lead role in Will and Grace because the producers thought he was too straight. Oh ironies of ironies. Getting slightly back on track with DW and the next episode's guest star - James Corden, has got into a bizarre spat with Sir Patrick Stewart at an...

    Ashes to Ashes... The End.

The great thing about retro shows is that they rarely age... because everything they depict is already dated.

    Matt Smith Dr Who

Yeah it really felt like they were laying foundation stones for a future Valeyard story.

    Matt Smith Dr Who

Cried a little tonight at the end of "Vincent and the Doctor".

    Matt Smith Dr Who

To paraphrase Bill Shankly: "Some people think Doctor Who is a matter of life and death. I assure you, it's much more serious than that!"!;)

    Matt Smith Dr Who

Yeah the ending of that one really has split a lot of people down the middle.

    Ashes to Ashes... The End.

I loved the fact they brought back Nelson... he was woefully underused in series 2 of LOM... and the hints about his real nature were there all along. I especially loved the use of Dixon of Dock Green at the end of the credits... it will have escaped most people's attention that PC George Dixon...

    Ashes to Ashes... The End.

Awesomeness of awesomeness. Quite a ride and at times you were led uncomfortably to believe you'd be in a place you didn't want to be at the end. But I loved the way it came full circle... and the ongoing destiny of Gene Hunt.

    Deep space 9

Yeah, I meant more the Prophets themselves... not the Bajoran belief system surrounding them. The latter featured heavily, but the Prophets own appearances were rather fleeting... were they not?

When you meet the Dream Lord, you may get an inkling as to why River might kill the Doctor in the future.

    Deep space 9

I'm with you for the most part there. I totally dig the Bajorans. I wished they'd focussed more on the whole Prophets/Bajor arc. It only seemed to become important in the later series. However I think if they'd have been brave and gone with it, a lot of the Trek purists would have gone ape! Was...

    Matt Smith Dr Who

Well it wasn't simply that they were looking at another angel, it was that their eyes were aligned so they couldn't break gaze in Blink. The Doctor himself expressed surprise at the fact they were killing in a more brutal fashion. Perhaps Angel Bob had a vendetta. who knows? As for the notion...

    Matt Smith Dr Who

Some of this spoiler stuff is over the top... if it's future speculation fair play, but it's annoying talking with past tense as spoilers... we don't get the same treatment for shows like Lost or BSG. It just seems a little silly.

    Matt Smith Dr Who

That's interesting... especially in the light of this that I discovered via the Twittersphere. I completely missed it: I like the idea especially because the "continuity error" seems too forced.
