    Jeremiah in Babylon 5

Ah, it all makes sense now I knew JMS used a lot of biblical reference, but I did not realise that was one of them. I had heard it was based on a comic book, didn't realise it was that old. Thank you all for your comments

    Original idea or a copy?

I've only seen the first Ep of Jeremiah, but something that occured to me was that the basic concept is very similar to a kids program that used to be on a few years ago called 'The Tribe'. Obviously, the story is different but the idea of adults being wiped out by a virus, leaving a world of...

    Jeremiah in Babylon 5

Couldn't decide if I should post this in the Babylon 5 or Jeremiah forum, so I've put it here Last night I watched Grey 17 Is Missing - the one where Garibaldi finds the hidden level in Grey sector and meets a character called Jeremiah (played by Robert Englund) who says: My name is...

    centauri and technomage trilogies

I've only read the Centari trilogy which was very good, and well written. I wouldn't say that B5 is not finished without these books since we find out what happens in War Without End. The books fill in the gaps For me, the only part that was not finished in B5 was the Bester/Garibaldi...

    Jeremiah showing in the UK

I thought that may be the case. Knowing that this is a JMS show, I know he will be building up the characters and the plot so I'm still open minded... Sorry didn't realise - I was just offering to help out but point taken

    Jeremiah showing in the UK

I have to admit I was not totally blown away by the first Ep, but it is still early days. I'm sure JMS will pull something out of the bag over the next few episodes... Being a person of low moral values that doesn't really bother me But, I think it helps illustrate what the world has...

    Why Babylon?

My knowledge of Babylonian myth is limited, but I think in one of the commentaries on S1 (Chrysalis I think) JMS did mention that it was to do with the Order vs Chaos aspect as mentioned above. Also, I beleive that there are other connections too such as the Vorlons taking the form of Angels...

DVD problem - And The Sky Full Of Stars

I thought I read somewhere that this problem only existed on the first batch and it had been corrected for subsequent releases. I guess I must have dreamt it I'm not too bothered by it, but if it was easy to replace it then I would do so. As you say, there are more important things in life to...

JMS speaks on features for season 2 & 3 DVD's.

Re: JMS speaks on features for season 2 & 3 DVD\'s. Wow, this is great news. Looks like they are pulling out all the stops for the DVDs now they know there is demand for them After reading the interview with Jerry in this thread, I am pleasantly surprised to see that he is getting invloved...

    in the beginning question (spoilers)

Well that completly blows my theory I must have coughed or something when that was mentioned in the show However, this is still an unusual choice since it would obviously 'upset' the Minbari. And why didn't the they reject Sheridan? Hmmm, interesting...

    in the beginning question (spoilers)

Perhaps, but we never find out exactly what Sinclair/Valen revealed in the prophesy. If Sheridan was mentioned then wouldn't the Minbari have acted differently when he took command of B5? Also, Sinclair did not really know Sheridans full destiny and he did not know the outcome of the war so he...

    in the beginning question (spoilers)

Interesting idea, but I don't think so. President Clarke is very Pro Earth and wants to distance humans from other aliens. Choosing Sheridan Starkiller is the perfect choice to create a rift between the humans & Minbari. Behind the President of course, the Shadows are really calling the shots...

    in the beginning question (spoilers)

I think that if she did recognise them on B5 then she would not reveal this to them since they would then know that she was somehow involved and it may also give away her position as one of the Grey Council. Also remember that Delen has made every effort to conceal her involvement in the war...

What are your favoirte B5/crusade quotes?

One of my all time favourites is G'Kars speech right at the end of Za'ha'dum. Can't remember the exact words but it starts: "The war paused, suddenly and unexpectedly..." and it ends "No-one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us, we know only, that it is always born, in...

    Jeremiah showing in the UK

I've been waiting to see this for some time now, so I was very pleased to have just seen an advert on Sky One saying that they will start showing it on Monday, December 16th

DVD problem - And The Sky Full Of Stars

Sorry to drag this one up again. Have Warner corrected this problem now on the R2 DVD set? If so, I was just wondering if anyone who had this version has managed to get a replacement? I bought mine over the net which is a real pain when you need to return it. I don't want to go through all...

    Sinclair's Scar

Re: Sinclair\'s Scar That's right. And as I remember from the book, Minbari always have their scars removed since they don't like them (forget the reason) and they weren't too pleased that Sinclair refused to have it removed. I think he kept it as a sort of 'reminder', and probably to iritate...

    S2, S3 *and* S4 in 2003?

Removing about 75% of the words from our language and changing all words ending in 'ise' to 'ize' is not really an improvement IMBO (In My British Opinion)

    The Shadow Within

I am also planning to get this book Would you recommend reading this beforeor after the Technomage Trilogy?

JMS blooper on commentary for Chrysalis

Shows like this are usually good because the creator DOES care about it. I get the impression that most, if not all, of the team behind B5 really took pride in what they were doing and it shows I bet that with TV shows that are not very good, that the people involved take the 'it's just a job'...
