    Shadow War Question

I think the issues would be twofold. First, navigation in hyperspace would be difficult as one moved away from all the known hyperspace beacons. Secondly, there ain't nothin' there that would interest human-type explorers! You'd have to go to another galaxy to find anything unless you just...

    Shadow War Question

I think "the rim" being explored is "the rim of known space" not necessarily "the rim of the galaxy," which is "the Rim" in the last few episodes. In other words, the term "the rim" probably has multiple meanings, like the term 'the frontier" does in our own histories.

    B5's greatest hits

Re: B5\'s greatest hits In fact, that scene is so affecting that I have only once watched it in the five years since it aired (maybe two years later, on tape)... and regretted doing so, because I am haunted by it for days. I have skipped right past that scene on tape and DVD in all the other...

Poll - Your Favorite Babylon 5 Novel Trilogy

Not much of a question in my mind. The Technomage trilogy was the one I enjoyed the most, because the charactors actually "spoke" in the voice of the TV charactors, and so I found it very appealing. Plus, it answered the true, deep questions of the two series that were answered nowhere else...

    sinclair and sakai's final fates...

Re: sinclair and sakai\'s final fates... My feeling is that the ultimate fate of Valen and Sakai won't be told even if there is a book or series of books on Valen's War. That bit will probably remain ambiguous because it ties in, at least referentially, with Delenn's fate, and that is the sort...

    Some questions to be answered

Well, that just goes to show how different people see different things, because jumpgates seem more chaotic than orderly to me. They eliminate the need for huge ships which only governments could afford and which would thus be more tightly controlled and orderly. Jumpgates make it possible for...

    Online Crusade Scripts

There is a site, Worlds of JMS that has synopses/reviews of the scripts, that have satisfied me (and others) since then about the basic premises of the scripts. That will have to do until they appear in print or are overtaken by events. There are also some on the boards who have actual...

I can assure you that if I got anything right in my post (or any of my posts on this, quite frankly) it was by accident or coincidence!

    From JMS NEWS...

I would go further and say it was a GREAT idea, executed clumsily. It was what every Trek fan wanted, but too tied up in the Trek same-ol' same-ol' "ooh, let's have a time travel plot! We haven't done that since last episode!"

various from jms - Monday, June 14, 2004 8:26 AM

My feeling has always been that these posts by JMS are "stream of conciousness" types of posts, which makes me think that the "encoded message" was an afterthrought to what he had just said, which would imply soemething to do with the DVDs or commentaries. Nothing solid to go one, of course...

Re: various from jms - Monday, June 14, 2004 8:26 That was what I was thinking of. Thanks for the correction. Like I said, its been years.

Recoil, I agree absolutely. In fact, I will go further and say that the time and effort spent on such a show would be totally wasted in my opinion. It would ruin the mystery for the fans and be ignored by the public. At best it would be a lot of shoot-em-ups that we would tire of quickly, at...

On the TV series he will EP: I seem to recall that he and Joss Whedon came very close to creating a TV series together some years ago (I am thinking 2001) but it stalled because JW was involved in some studio politics. Could it be that they have gotten that project off the ground (i.e. an idea...

Yep, a "Biggs vaccine" or something critical coming from "the Biggs institute" isn't out of the question. Possibly even a transport named the Biggs.

    LOTR DVD cover art

But if you have an illegal DVD you will want to put another cover on it in case the police come knocking, eh? Unless you have hidden the illegal DVD inside a dead cat inside a Pakmara! In any case, I would be surprised if Rick spent time making a custon cover for a non-existant DVD.

    Into the Fire Extended music...

I think that I hear some links between the musical themes in the "ITF suite" and some of the game soundtracks - that is, stuff that isn't B5-theme-related. So his work on the game soundtracks might have been "recycled" a bit. Anyone else hear this? I admit to having a bit of a tin ear when it...

    The Title - again

But that's unpossible! JoeD, myself, CE, and vacantlook all correct at the same time? NOW somebody tell me JMS doesn't read this board! :D

    The Title - again

Like I said, I thought I was on the last page of the thread, and since GH was responding to my post I thought it polite to keep up the conversation. These things do happen, especially to those of us who engage in lazy postreading at its worst!

GH, I am sorry I didn't see that this page existed when I posted my last. Nevermind.

    The Title - again

To set the stage for the "memory" of shadows, and to do it using modern movie wizardry... but I repeat myself. Yeah, I knew JMS was a lazy bum the first time he did that "previously on Babylon 5" schtick, and it was confirmed by re-using scenes of prophecy and memory throughout the series. I...
