    Primeval

Good news although it is a pity that so few will be made. My mother told me that she picked up season 1 DVD in a supermarket last week for £3.Bargain.

    More 'bots?

A footie forum that I used had a major problem with spambots. This was fixed by putting any first post that contained a link into pre moderation.Of course you would still have to ban the bots but it does save the board from being over run by the buggers

Ooops,I blame the diazipam  Anyway I thought A Scanner Darkly was a good film

    Universal fast track BSG movie

Well a lot of books do get murdered. Some even come out of it OK. Got to agree though,a great many Sci Fi classics couldn't be made into good films. The likes of Stranger in a Strange Land belong in print. I find it strange as well that nobody seems to class Terminator as Sci Fi

Don't be,Gattaca was released in '97 :) I quite liked that movie myself.

    Universal fast track BSG movie

Well I for one am not satisfied with 2-3 good Sci Fi films a year.I do think the genre has a lot more to offer. I've read Sci Fi and fantasy books since I was about 6 and there are a great many decent stories out there for all ages.It seems to me that very few books by Sci Fi and especially...

    Universal fast track BSG movie

So what's next,a new new Star Trek  Plenty of original Sci Fi out there of both the deep philosophical sort or your plain action/Galactic conquest.Give it a chance.

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

I'm not sure but I think that was the last in the series

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

I've read a few of his books and he is OK. What have you got though, one of his fantasy books,a sci-fi book or a mystery book? He has written in all of these styles.I do remember The Dying Earth series seemed to mix magic and technology. It's been years since I've read anything by him (I think...

    My take on B5

I'm selling them on e-bay for $20 each  Don't tell anybody though ;)

    My take on B5

Well I'm far from an expert on copyright law so I probably am misunderstanding things :) Now in the UK it states in a book that it cannot be lent.I've never known anybody to get into trouble for lending a book however. So quotes are OK but avatars not,I never knew that.Still I have no problems...

    My take on B5

Were they not a few Dr.Who episodes saved from oblivion because fans had copies of them and gave these copies back to the BBC  As for copyright infringment, does that not happen if you lend somebody a book without permission? Is it not the case that any quote from any film used by...

So...what is everybody reading now? (part Deux)

Reading the first in Stan Nicholls new Orc series (Bad Blood) called Weapons of Magical Destruction. While easy reading I've found this series of books quite enjoyable with its squadie humour, violence and fantasy characters who actually swear at times.Plus it's nice to hear the Orcs side of the...

    Watchmen

Watched the special edition of this on Sataurday with my brother and we were both impressed.I would say it is the best film I have seen in years. Proper violence (loved the biting of the face scene),naked blue men (I'm a superhero, pants are optional),hot chicks in nice outfits and the premature...

    Torchwood: Children of Earth (Spoilers)

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth (Spoliers) I saw the US version of Red Dwarf and couldn't believe how bad it was.I put it down to the acting. Benny Hill was more popular in America in the end I believe  The UK has a long tradition in SF which is seen mainly as a family show...

    JMS Leaves "World War Z"

That actually sounds OK and I can't blame him for having that attitude. On the other hand I haven't met the lad and don't know what he considers honourable. I doubt that the people who actually make tv know much about honour from what I've seen over the years though.Let's face it,it's about...

    Torchwood: Children of Earth (Spoilers)

Re: Torchwood: Children of Earth (Spoliers) Was impressed by this more than I thought possible. Have to agree about the politicians, nearly as slimey as real life ;) Is this the end of Torchwood though?Just about everybody is dead and Jack has left so I can't see how it can continue.
