    War of the Worlds remake

My question is, why a remake? Why not do the original novel as a period piece, set when H.G. Wells set the story (which was around the turn of the century), complete with the tripod war machines? Also, why do people insist on messing with classics? Unless you can do something really cool with...

    Captain Sheridan's Finest Hour

Re: Captain Sheridan\'s Finest Hour Just my two cents. No way in hell I wouldn't have tapped that.I would have reasoned shagging her as doing my duty to the Amry of Light. :D

    Diamond in the Ruff

After getting my breath back and wiping the tears from my eyes, I just wanted to thank you two for giving me the best laugh I have had in a long time. :D And I thinkg this is the first time a thread in the Ancillary Forum has ever gone to more than one page.

    Here we go again.

Hopefully, this is the latest TV trend that will quickly run out of steam. About ten years or so ago, the big thing was newsmagazine shows. Like reality shows, they were probably cheap to create as you already had the news department and personnel in place, just have them do double-duty. When...

    Middle of January my a$$

Try this one too. Do the same thing as above, but change the font to Webdings (if you have it). That one is rather interesting.

    DVD Extras

It's from the summer 1995 issue of Foundation, the journal of the Science Fiction Foundation. The article was called "Approaching Babylon" and was reprinted in the book "The Babylon File" by Andy Lane. The exact quote is as follows.

    Diamond in the Ruff

Is that why you are now listed as an Insurgent?

    DVD Extras

Yes, it was. :D Even JMS has said he wouldn't mind if every copy of that episode mysteriously vanished and the negatives fell off the end of a pier somewhere. This episode doesn't even have a saving sub-plot like "TKO" and "Gray 17 Is Missing" had.

    DVD Extras

In a strange "Six degrees of Keviin Bacon" kind of way, David Warner, who appeared in "Grail", was also in that film. Of course, the less said about that episode, the better.

    the fall of the night

Another thing to consider, how did they get the explosives on the station? No weapons, other than those issued to station personnel, are supposed to be allowed on B5. Makes you wonder if Nightwatch had a hand in this.

    Does anyone still buy video?

VHS video tapes= the vinyl records of the video age.

A time when JMS missed on a humor attempt?

This was in "Grail" which is why it is not commented on much. ;)

Vote for Babylon as best tv show of all time

Babylon 5 is now at #2, behind Twin Peaks. Anyone else notice they screwed up the zip code for Beverly Hills 90210. They put it down as 90201.

Babylon 4 versus Minbari Knowledge of Humans

Someone has already done that. The Babylon 5 Parallel Universe Story Warning: this thing is massive. It works out to 1,176,198 words all told. I haven't even read the whole thing yet. But the idea is interesting.

    Re-Evaluating Some of Season 1

The Centauri, we later see, have four telepaths that can communicate over light years (the veiled women following the Emperor around in the second season). If they have telepaths of that power, why would they want a human telepath of such slight power, even if her talent was just emerging and...

Kevin Smith to do The Green Hornet

The Green Hornet was a radio show in the 40's about crusading newspaper man Britt Reid, who alos fought crime as the Green Hornet, though he was thought by the police to be a criminal. He was assisted by his servant (this was created in the 40's, people) Kato. It was strongly implied, by his...

    WB cancels Angel

Angel never "died" strictly speaking. At the end of the second season, Buffy shoved a sword through him (not killing him as only wood works that way) and sent him to hell through a dimensional gateway, not by dying. Angel only died once, when he was vamped by Darla. It has been noted many...

    The economics of DVD

Lucas stated the reason he did it was because that was how he saw the movies, but the technology was not up to the task at the time. The only "new" version I saw was the first one, so I have no idea what changes they made in the other films. I have to admit, some of the new shots in SW:ANH were...
