    Star Wars Sept 21st release

The whole 'who shoots first' thing also shows the change Han goes through during the movies. Shooting first shows he will do damn near anything to save his own neck, and later he risks his life to save Luke and in ROTJ agrees to lead the raid to take out the shield. Big change going from a...

    Harlan Ellison

Ellison was also the person JMS would go to to deal with any media reporter that couldn't seem to structure their article in any other way than 'How would you compare Babylon 5 with Star Trek?' Those responses would be a hell of a lot of fun to see. My favorite Ellison quote comes from...

I think it works much better with Kirk stopping McCoy. Gives his character a little bit more depth than 'spaceship captain screws alien bimbo of the week.' :p And Spock's 'He knows, Doctor' just caps it.

    Star Wars Sept 21st release

I own the Lord of the Rings extended cut DVD's (well, the first two, eagerly awaiting the third) and love them. The addded/extended scenes add a whole new level to the story and the behind the scenes footage is fantastic. The stuidos are realizing that the public wants the extra stuff and are...

    Children of Dune

The version available in the US is the broadcast version. There is no "director's cut" so far, and from what I have read, there is little chance of there being one. I continue to hold out hope, though, and have not yet got that version, as I have and love the director's cut of Dune .

Which is the main reason Crusade is about the only "quest" show I like. (Quest Show = the characters must spend the entire run of ths how searching for something [e.g. searching for the cure to turning into a big green monster in "The Incredible Hulk" or searching for the way home in...

    The rank system in earthforce.

JMS mentions in the commentary on "Severed Dreams" that the uniform for Major Ryan took some adjusting since it meant to fot a certain profile (such as that of the first officer on the Alexander) and Ryan had a "somewhat larger profile". The actor cast was not the actor JMS orignally wanted...

    San Diego Wastelands

We do see a newspaper headline in "And the Sky Full of Stars" that says San Diego was "still considered too radioactive for occupancy". Tweaked bomb or Psi-Corps moving behind the scenes are the best suggestions.

    The rank system in earthforce.

Having a slight interest in this area due to my having researched military rank strcture for a novel I am writing, I have studied the EF rank intensely. Not everyon that wears a uniform on B5 is in EarthForce. The best way to tell the differecne is: those with the EA symbol on their chest and...
