    Attention forum Moderator!

Simple answer is to set up a new email address in yahoo or google and use that to register a new account. Personally I use a nonsense email account purely for forum registrations – it cuts down on the spam to my proper account tremendously.

    B5Scrolls has a new home.

That’s probably what’s going to happen no matter what ends up on B5Scrolls. You’ve probably seen them already, but there’s two clips up on the facebook page. Everett dug out a whole pile of video covering a lot of projects he’s worked on, and amongst that was a couple of hours of B5 stuff. So...

    B5Scrolls has a new home.

It was, and I know this is a bit of a cliché, an overwhelming response by some of the fans…….. I was happy enough to let it go – with the 2 year server extension, it had a longer run than I’d expected……. Now I’m going to have to figure out what to do with 2 hours worth of previously unreleasd...

    B5Scrolls has a new home.

For those that already know about it, and downloaded a copy. B5Scrolls has moved address, old bookmarks will throw back a 404. The new url is http://www.b5scrolls.com/ When the site moved a few folk said they hadn’t realised it still gets updated. The current front page is dated 20th...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

Read that it's something like 30% or retail. @Ubik As far as I know there is (or was) quite a bit out there – but haven’t the foggiest with regard to quality, never read any. So Republibot, rather than producing stuff anonymously or under an assumed name, we’re just about at the stage (when...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

Here’s a kind of related story which shows how far the pendulum is swinging, where Warner Bros. (god love them) are now cashing in on fan fiction, via sales through kindle books. Though the fan authors get a cut as well...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

Sorry, your right. Funny why I didn’t, because I’ve got a tendency of normally always providing links – to the point of being a bit anal about it. Relates to the showing of fan made movies at a comic con back in 2004. They weren’t being shown that year because the con was charging people to...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

It’s interesting that your view of things so singularly revolves around jms, and what he might or might not have done. Did it ever occur to you (despite jms’s stated views on the subject) that Novo Babylonia is still producing episodes – not because jms hasn’t reported them – but simply because...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

You might want to catch up on your reading about copyright infringement. It was a pretty important landmark ruling, and more importantly addressed the cornerstones of a fair use claim. http://www.wired.com/2013/11/google-books-2/ [edit] BTW. What you were doing reviewing a script for a movie...

B5 Fan films / episodes... Why aren't there any?

While Warner Bros. owns the show it’s clearly not as simple as that. For years jms has said Warner periodically approach him with ideas and requests. We never get to hear about most and they don’t happen for reasons we (again) more often than not never hear about. Should we be told – nope...

one down..... now lets have one stateside,

There’s a lot of tripe following the announcement as well. Though that kind of hype is not that unusual. Take this announcement over on Giant Freakin Robot with comments like this. “Sure, it’s on DVD, but it hasn’t been airing anywhere in syndication…………. Thankfully that tragic absence of...

    Script Descriptions

Not got a lot on this. . . . . hardly got anything would be closer to the truth. : ) It was the first episode Luc Mayrand got called in on (remembering he was freelance) and was heavily involved with the designs in and around the machine including the Varn alien himself, the interface where he...

    Script Descriptions

If that's how you feel, though I'm sure there's more to come, bye then. Personally I do sometimes get the impression that some folk are less interested in the topic being discussed than they are with wanting to be entertained by two or more (other) people arguing. Disagreements are fine, I...

Forgot to mention earlier. Paul Bryant did the Lumati ship.

    Script Descriptions

Ron Thornton designed the three new ships that turned up in deathwalker. The Iksha (or Ipsha, I’ve seen both names used) battle globe. There was a running joke we were having about fish being involved with the design of the ships. I’d also asked about the colours used in the jump gates...

    Script Descriptions

Quite a bit was mentioned about the Shadows by Ron Thornton – who designed the ships and aliens. Here’s a couple of extracts The origin of the Shadow scout/corvette (the one that looked like a hair clasp) was more down to playing with software than anything else. As Jeff Scheetz explained...

Paul Bryant on his design of the Cortez which appeared on screen. Paul also designed the Omega, and I’d been giving him a hard time (joking) about his nod to the Leonov which he had included in that ship (making the profile of the Omega’s rotating section the same as the Leonov’s from 2010)...

So it appears JMS has taken down B5 scrolls

Ha, this could be fun. Ron Thornton on the eventual design/model of the sigma walker ship. Interesting jms said “good luck Ron” when mentioning the disturbance. As it turns out (as revealed in the interviews), the electrical distortion round the ;jump point’ with all that energy arcing about...

So it appears JMS has taken down B5 scrolls

Bit more to the "claw" idea than that, but your essentially correct. B5Scrolls should be back up this weekend. Download it, and give the interviews a read. You’d probably find John C’s, Paul Bryant's, Steve Burg's (maybe even John Vulich’s) and the one this quote comes from, Ron Thornton’s...

So it appears JMS has taken down B5 scrolls

What Jan said. Yes, I can agree with Jan . . . . . . on the rarist of occasions. Has something to do with lunar cycles, unicycles or something. Here's a link, probably not the one Jan is referring to, but it covers the same sort of ground. http://midwestemmys.org/about/order/
