A-.
There were some epic B5 historical moments which were only hinted at played out in full in this movie. The Ivanova earring thing was very clever, and it's nice to see our Vorlons together without killing each other. There is a good bit of irony here (Sheridan talking about going up...
It's not the line that bothered me, it's the concept that of all the dozens and dozens of ships only Sheridan could get to the last defense grid platform... especially given that 15 seconds prior about 30 ships were clustered together.
A-.
A heavy episode, all this life risking finally has terrible consequences for one of our main characters (though as we find out in the next episode... not as expected).
A-. An epic conclusion, although a bit of a stretch / liberty with the ramming speed thing. JMS would call it "a TV moment."
I liked the sudden change in tone at the end. "Yaay we won... hooray... oh fuck... Marcus..."
I gave it a B. It's certainly not exciting but it's not supposed to be.
It's an evil little episode... incredibly frustrating to watch (as intended), and that sense of "not wanting to sit through it" imo means that the episode did a good job. Sheridan didn't want to sit through it either. :p
Looks like I gave this a B and never explained why.
Anyway, It really didn't even give the sense of closure that the previous episode gave.
I liked the premise of the episode but felt vague dissatisfied with the presentation. The first news segment felt well done, capturing the same air of...
Indeed. And the episode gives a wonderful sense of closure... completely justified and well executed considering the uncertainty of season 5 at the time.
Who knew CC could act so well. Too bad we don't get to see it until practically her last appearance.
A.
B++ very good.
Just shy of an A because there is a lot of long dialog segments that seem to go on alittle longer than they need to.
The dialog is important though... so I can deal with its slowness to a point.
Obviously a heavy episode, I wouldn't have like it if they didn't approach the killing of Earthforce officers with the appropriate gravity, but they did.
I gave it an A, but can someone tell me how a whitestar gets destroyed by an Earthforce ship?
An A for the Minbari civil war sequence and also for the intense ending decision. Lyta really gets the shaft here, and Garibaldi heads even farther down a dark road, it's a pretty strong episode emotionally.
B+, I really liked the Delenn sequence, it would have been an A- episode if not for Sheridan running around with a stupid smirk on his face outsmarting everyone the whole episode.
I gave this a B (minus?). I think that the tension between Garibaldi and Zack was well done, and his internal conflict comes out nicely.
Not a big fan of the huge Zathras sequence either... whatever happened to Draal?
