FWIW, I've never seen or heard of a celeb taking offense at fans stopping by and letting them know one appreciated their work. That only costs admission and standing in line as needed. For me, the question is always-would I regret NOT having done something. Money makes lousy memories.

Tip I learned from an artist re: framing unusual sizes: Buy a standard size frame and get a mat cut to fit. The right mat can really enhance a piece, too.

If it were me, I'd use the black velvet and maybe find a lucite box cover for it. OR - if you check out a craft store, you might find a 'shadow box' (if you'll forgive the term) that would work as a nice display. Depends on whether you've got more flat space or wall space available. Shadow...
