Serenity - SPOILERS! Consider yourself warned!

Man, that was awesome. Serenity is an excellent movie, I highly recommend it. One neat callback I noticed: when they were showing the devastation of the other places the Alliance hit, Whitefall was one of them. Looks like Patience (from the pilot) got nuked. The explanation of the Reavers was...

Top 50 Sci-Fi shows of all time

The lack of Farscape, DS9 and The Prisoner is criminal, especially given some of the shows that made the list. #2 is questionable, but after seeing "Pegasus", I'd have to say the show has definitely earned a place in the top 10.

    Masters of the Universe!

I remember seeing it again awhile ago and getting freaked out by a young Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris from Voyager) as one of the hapless humans that get tossed into the plot. Such a dumb movie.

What's wrong with this picture? (SA&B)

Re: What\'s wrong with this picture? (SA&B) Maybe The Great Machine sent B5 back to fight another great war?

Stargate SG-1: The New Season [Spoilers]

Orii, I think. The villians have always been SG1's weakness, I never found the Replicators or Goa'uld or now the Orii particularly compelling or interesting villians. That and RDA were the main reasons I never got hooked on SG-1. I think one of the problems with this season is Samantha Carter...

Stargate Atlantis: Season 2 so far [Spoilers]

And he's Canadian! I'm enjoying Atlantis, but it's not a show like Farscape or Babylon 5, where I couldn't wait for the next episode. Atlantis is a pleasant diversion.

    Revisiting original Trek

I hated Year of Hell. I found Janeway's actions inexplicable, from deciding her crew should try and make their way in warp-driveless lifepods, to how she thought her suicide charge would reset the story (I can only assume she read the script). Annorax was vaguely interesting, but the...

The mighty GKarsEye watches Battlestar Galactica

Re: The mighty GKarsEye watches Battlestar Galacti My belief is that they aren't in touch until a body is destroyed and it's consciousness is transferred to another body. As for Six's knowledge, remember that a Six got on and off Galactica in "Six Degrees".

The mighty GKarsEye watches Battlestar Galactica

Re: The mighty GKarsEye watches Battlestar Galacti That "review" is bullshit, obsessing over trivialities and poorly written. Not really. First, there's less than 50,000 people left, so it's a matter of going with who you have available. Everyone knows Baltar is odd, but he's also an expert...

    Name Change

I'm suddenly envisioning Kosh 2 running around B5 going "Gigitty, gigitty, gigitty!" It's very disturbing.

    NewbieQ: Thirdspace

I still haven't finished TRoS. I just can't get into it. So I'd rate the movies in this order: In the Beginning A Call to Arms To Live and Die in Starlight The Gathering Thirdspace The River of Souls Although I haven't seen the reedited "The Gathering" yet, so it's based on my hazy memories of...

    It was, perhaps, inevitable...

Now, I'm a Firefly fan, but I don't think Firefly was a perfectly written series. There were some problems that I had. The big fight in "The Message" was annoyingly needless. At any time, Mal had only to reassure Tracy that they had a plan to save him and they wouldn't have had to kill him...

    It was, perhaps, inevitable...

Here's the big comparison: Focus. Babylon 5 was about empires and the fate of a galaxy. Characters commanded fleets and ruled worlds. Babylon 5 is epic space opera. Firefly is about nine characters struggling to survive in a hard universe. These characters have one ship, and just surviving to...

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (SPOILERS)

Re: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (SPOILE I'm pretty sure we saw a horcrux in OotP, the locket that couldn't be opened. That'd make R.A.B. Sirius's brother Regulus. JKR say that House Elves use a different magic than apparition, which allows them to bypass that restriction in...

New Season of Battlestar Galatica (SPOILERS)

Jamie is quite the hottie. As for Pegasus, it's gonna happen. Michelle Forbes (Ensign Ro) will play Cain.

'Revenge of the Sith' reviews (Spoilers)

Re: \'Revenge of the Sith\' reviews (Spoilers) My favourite bit from the prequels is "Duel of the Fates" from TPM. Rots is okay.
