Yeah, but some sci-fi gets done very well: like "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" becoming Bladerunner. :) I just think most studios today are going to go for the wham/bam special effects meat and spit the rest of it out. Sad. I keep waiting for a good studio to emerge that puts out...

Yeah, I'm gonna pretend you're not dissing Pink Floyd because it's not emo and "cutting edge" nobody's-ever-heard-of-this-other-cool-stuff-I-Listen-to-so-that-makes-me-a-music-connoisseur" type stuff. Wonder Boys was great. As a writer, I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

I really enjoyed it. I didn't pay much attention to the science. I'm not a "nitpicking nerd" about stuff like that. Why ruin a good story?

Are there extended versions of these movies? I was wondering if extra material (that would explain a lot of this) could be used in a release of an extended version, kind of like Lord of the Rings. Just wonderin' . . .
