    Down Below Archive... What Happened?

I read on Facebook last month that the site was going away because the machine it was resident on was going away. So, yeah, hold on to those Wayback links.

    JMS Moving to the UK

I'm not really sure but I don't think he could do all the running and jumping required for the part. But if they need somebody to turn off lights, he's the Guy! :p

    JMS Moving to the UK

Yes, he's now officially a Resident of the UK and has a Visa that permits him to live *and work* there. He's always expressed interest, recently commenting that it would be a dream come true when asked. But some have tried starting rumors that he's got a Secret Agreement to take the show over...

    Babylon 5 Trading Cards

Not embossed, no. But a Harlan Ellison autographed card is 1.8 grams. And a lasercut card of the Station is 1.6 - which makes sense since it has holes in it.

    Babylon 5 Trading Cards

Okay, so I finally got the Enterprise card I'd mentioned and took it out of all of the packaging and weighed it. Much to my surprise, it came out to 2.3 grams. I don't know if there's a thin bit of paper between the sides since the embossing is quite distinct but even for only $10, I'm not...

    Babylon 5 Trading Cards

As a former owner of one of these cards, let me assure y'all that there was nowhere near 3 grams of gold in each card! Not even 1, I'm pretty sure. It's a fun little thing, though.

    B5 on Amazon Prime

Could be different rules for different countries? I'm reasonably sure that here in the US, the movies have never made it to any of the streaming services. They're available for purchase on Amazon, but not included in membership like the seasons are. And why it's just the movies and not Season...

    B5 on Amazon Prime

I asked JMS about the movies when he mentioned that the original edit being used instead of the Special Edition.

    B5 on Amazon Prime

For those who haven't heard, B5 is now included with Amazon Prime membership - at least in the US. No sign of the movies except that "The Gathering" is now shown as an 'Extra' to season 1. I think before it was plopped at the end of season 1 as a 23rd episode.

Jason Carter's wife posted that he recently had surgery to correct an atrial aneurism. He's been moved out of ICU and is recovering as expected.

    The Babylon 5 Preservation Project

Ah, sorry - if I'd known you work in publishing I'd forgotten. Oops! Of course you're much more aware than I am, then. I'm not sure how B5Books does things these days except that they're moving to all e-books, I think. I'm afraid I've lost track a bit since they moved away from CafePress...

    The Babylon 5 Preservation Project

When looking at costs (or worth), something to keep in mind also is that the cost of paper has skyrocketed. Granted, I don't have figures for printers, but simple copy paper is up $18.39/case since 2022.

    The Babylon 5 Preservation Project

Ouch - yeah, my sympathies on the shipping costs to the UK. It's gotten really bad! Voicing concerns is valid, too. I'm afraid I took your "...cramming the book..." to be a way of saying you thought he might be padding things; and while I expect far more detail than anybody ever expected, I...
