I'm getting impatient. I didn't lose hope yet, but this suspense is killing me.

I haven't heard anything either way, so I'll be holding a torch for as long as there's a torch to be held. I want to see this series, dammit.

Re: It\'s been a whole month

I have not given up. I refuse to give up.

Its been a month? So. We haven't heard one way or another.

If there was going to be no series, JMS would say so.

So theres still hope. Sci-fi might make it a series (hopefully) or maybe some other network will.

Or maybe it'll go to sydication, like Babylon 5 orignally was.

Who knows.

There is hope though.

Don't give up hope.

Its only been a month since the movie. Its not like its been a year since then the movie.

Then I'd be worried..

Re: It\'s been a whole month

JMS hasn't said anything about whether Rangers is going to be a series. If all were lost, he would've told us already. As it is, he's avoiding talking about it at all, if you follow his latest posts. That tells me that they could be in negotiations, & he's been asked to be quiet until they are over.

Re: It\'s been a whole month

In this particular case, I would say 'No news is good news.' If they were dead set on NOT doing Rangers, then Sci-Fi would have told JMS and crew by now, and they would have posted something in the Moderated news groups most likely. I can only assume that means they are still trying to work out some sort of deal. I have by no means given up, nor has many of the regulars of this site, of that you can be sure.

Granted, posting in this forum has dropped off some, but then again, we only have 1 2 Hour movie to discuss, not a 5 year series like some other forums.

And lets be realistic too, those of us who are regulars posted thier thoughts and opinions on the show OVER AND OVER right after the movie came out. For me, I have said, commented, and posted about every neat thing I saw in the movie. We have discussed what we can do to help in letter writing campaings and have engaged in such activities. We have also discussed the future possibilities for the series as much as we can at this point, and have come to the realization that all we can really do now is just wait and see. We have done all we can, just hope for the best.

Re: It\'s been a whole month

Come on guys. Have a little faith. I just saw the Gathering for the first time and if they made a series from that then they will make a series from this. Rangers didn't have as much funky music but i think it was quite a bit better. Here's to a Rangers series.

If there's ever been a reason to get them to make a Rangers series, it's to have more clever insults than this.

Seriously though, did you honestly expect to hear anything so soon? Patience is a virtue, and I'm sleepy.

Re: It\'s been a whole month

It's gonna probably be a couple months more yet before we know. SCI FI are waiting, and chewing things over I do believe.

Then if they don't want it, there is... other things, but they'll take time too.

Best thing to do: write to SCI FI, and then sit tight and don't think about it.

Re: It\'s been a whole month

Thanks Antony for the "still chewing it over" post. I guess since we have waited since last spring we can hang on for a few more months.

One of the reasons have remained hopeful is because one the Rangers posted about what the Rangers would be doing. And, as everyone has said we would have heard if the answer was definitely no.

Antony suggest that the best thing to do is write Sci Fi. So here are the names and addresses for those who haven't written yet:

Ms. Bonnie Hammer, President
Sci-Fi Channel
1230 Avenue of Americas
NY, NY 10020-1513

Mr. Tom Olson
VP Advertising Sales
same address

Antony, are you suggesting that those of us who have already written the network do so again? :)

Re: It\'s been a whole month

I'm sure if the answer were a flat "No Show" we would have heard. However, apart from SciFi there is always the remote possibility the show could be sold somewhere else. There are so many hours of television to be filled with all the new channels TPTB will have to put some money into new shows or people will just stop watching.

Also, JMS sent out a long post this morning regarding Jeremiah and he indicated he is very busy with that series with only about half the episodes in the can and it starts in about two weeks. I don't expect he is lying awake at night worrying about Rangers.

No station would announce what show is isn't going to buy. JMS might say if Rangers is a "No Show" but I can't imagine anyone else doing so. Except maybe one of the actors.

Let's hope they are negatiating right now.

Star Stuff,

Also remember that people should write the sponsors of the show as well. JoeD and Lyta had a very useful thread on this forum that referenced Lyta's website with some information on what to write, how to write it, and who to write as far as sponsors goes, not just Sci-Fi channel. Although writing Sci-fi is important of course as well. I should go find that thread and bump it up. Couldn't hurt.

Besides, people like Tigara need something productive to do with all their spare time and energy. Writing letters to help B5LR become a series is as good a cause as any.

About those letters. Does it matter if they're hand witten or typed? Will there be more of an impact either way?(I know my answers are somewhere on the messageboard but I can't find the specific thread)

Re: It\'s been a whole month

I am in that stage where I don't quite know what to think. My head says there will be no series, but my heart says not to lose hope, but just keep hanging in there. I would love to go with what my heart tells me, but I don't want hope to be dashed. I guess I could say that I am cautiously trying to be optimistic.

I have heard that handwritten in blue ink is best, but then you can't use your computer to speed things up a bit. So I address the envelope by hand, but send in a typed (and dated and signed) letter.
