I hate Babylon 5

Ok the posts seem to be coming in pretty slow so i thought i'd make one that would be easy to respond to. Here i go...

I hate babylon 5 and everything having to do with sci-fi. I hate trekies and people that go to those stupid conventions. I have even deleted channels from my tv that have any shows that are remotely science fiction. I hate people with ridges on there noses or pointy ears or bone crests. What one thing could you possibly tell me to make me want to see Babylon 5?

i'm sorry tigara but it's not that easy. I've seen porn that is done in space and dispite some good girl on girl action i couldn't stand watching that s**t. Man i hate babylon 5.

by the way do you know cheetara and panthros. We hang out sometimes.

ah, miss the point there.

B5: the originality when concepted - the CGI the evolving arc, and characters (they actually are alive) - the tech, GOD (jms)

Hmmm ... can't think why this reminds of those slow news days we seem to get on British radio.

Here's a reason for watching B5 - it's a damn sight more interesting (and less painful) than chewing your own foot off.

Believe me, I've tried it.

Good action and a great storyline writtten by the one and only JMS himself .With hopefully more to come in saga with the rangers series maybe .

Why do I like B5?

Why not? Naturally there are objective reasons behind my choice, but listing them all would be hardly practical. Deciding that you like something does not require a full definition of why. Just like choosing what you want... does not require fully knowing who you are. Perhaps I like it because...

- it depicts a future which I deem believable
- it asks important and interesting questions
- it provokes speculation and gleeful chaos
- the story and characters are intriguing

Last but not least, I might like it because I cannot resist the smile of one fictional Minbari ambassador. In the end, does it matter why I like it?

Good detective work GaribaldisHair. It has been slow ever since the new boards came online. Not enough discussion and i need something to pass my time.

ok ivanova i think you can close this one out... people are starting to post again. Another job well done by me. Back to saving the world /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif

Considering that the first post you got was by Tigara, I wouldn't exactly call that a success /ubbthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

success is in the eye of the beholder /ubbthreads/images/icons/smile.gif I'm trying my best here since almost every conceivable topic has been discussed to death in the last 9 years. I'm doing my part in making this forum a little bit more active. It does seem like everyone is in the nc-17 forum talking about various body parts. Where has the nitpicking of every last detail of b5 gone? What was it all for i wonder?

Now there is a good, thought provoking question.

Have we wasted a good chunk of our lives with this show? Maybe, but I don't regret a spent minute.

I think the time I've spent devoted to B5 has helped me apreciate really good television.
I think if I ever found myself writing a story or making a TV show, B5 might give me a sense of what to do right.
I think wanting to know every little tidbit of this show has disseminated over into the rest of my life. I want to know who, what, when, where, why, & how about everything.
I think if I keep listing all the valuable things I've gotten from nit-picking this show, I'll be here for days.

"Fetch the compfy chair!"

And if that doesn't work, we'll try a different kind of chair. Like maybe something from A Clockwork Orange...

Nonsense, if people could talk about TOS and still continue to talk about it, we can talk about B5, it isn't gonna be that hard.
And ironically, I was the first one (well, of our little crowd) that had a B5 board, Antony started B5LR a full year after I started Beyond the Rim, only he had money and he bought a domain and everything, I just ran an ez-board.

"the ivanova thing goes back to the sex thing from before."

Nah. My wife thinks Ivanova rocks, and that isn't a sex thing. (At least I don't think it's a sex thing.)
