A big invitation Down Under

Zoriah

Beyond the rim
Ok *grin* lately things have been a bit tense around here so...

I'm going to go out on a limb and invite the cast and crew of LoTR to come down to Australia and New Zealand sometime and have a great holiday.

If you ever get offered a chance to come down and do the convention circuit etc, I can assure you that you'd be very welcome and have a great time, there is so much to see and do in this neck of the woods, and of course there are plenty of fans down here that would be over the moon to have any of you guys make an appearance.

Sadly, we won't be getting the movie until months after our US mates, but we are all rooting for the show to be a big success and to lead on to a great series.

Thought I'd put my invitation in now, just so you'd know that there are a lot of us that are excited and confident this side of the globe.

Cheers!

And I invite you all around to my place in the UK. There's nothing to do around here, although we can go down the pub then go get pizza.

I think it would be great to get the cast down here

Bugger the beer we will treat them with class whiskey, vodka whatever.

On a more serious note Zoriah are there still any B5 conventions in OZ? I havent heard of any in a while if you could fill me in id be most greatful
smile.gif
and if not who would be interested in trying to arrange one?

Zoriah and Karanthas... I third your invitation to the guys to come 'down under', the most beautiful place on this here Earth!

Think of it LotR cast and crew... fantastic beaches that stretch for kilometers (miles), shockingly great food, gorgeous men and women, cafe's open until the early hours of the morning on the beach front areas... you can swim with the dolphins, go whale watching, or take a cruise on the Sydney Harbour, or on Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne. We have the great barrier reef, and even more beneficial for you guys - your dollar is worth two of ours!

We have great shopping, trust me - I'm Minbari, we don't lie!
laugh.gif

Australia welcomes you with open arms, and I'm sure New Zealand does too! We're practically the same nation anyway!

And... Aussies and Kiwi's know how to party!

Delenn: "The truth often is."

I'm sure the sentiment is appreciated, but I think invitations are kinda pointless when not coming from a convention/event runner. If going on their own, I don't really think they'd want a group of fans tagging along...

Well you can but you need a damn big stick.

Can anyone else not get the second trailer to work?

I may not be a cast member, but I've always wanted to go to pub. Pubs are cool!
laugh.gif
You can get cool drinks served to you by a grouchy midget that plays good darts.

May Valen be with you.

You'd be surprised at what some of us will do for a beer, Drahk. If we go to series count me in. I'm sure I could convince the Drazi to join me in hitting the locals up for a tasty brew and za for sure. Be it OZ, the UK or Scotland. In fact, I'm willing to bet on it. Gus, back me up, bro.

I can only speak for myself but as long as you're not a psychopath, I could pretty much share a drink with anyone. Crazy=good, psycho=bad.

Anyway, the future's not ours to see, but I'll work out the kinks in my drinking elbow just in case!

ps-To the cast, crew and fans: I promise not to mix drinking with explosives. (Course JMS could share a slightly different view)

pps- Hey AntonyF, I'd love Warrens' headshot over my name as well. He looks hot enough to melt butter on! I'm just hopin' the ladies mix us up!

Sorry I haven't got your own pic up yet. I've been converting the cast members over. I need to update yours and Alex's accounts.

As to Warren, what is it about this guy? I've got Dylan emailing me to ask me to put Warren's pic on his profile.
laugh.gif

But I'll put your pic above your name. You're great looking too, don't do yourself an injustice!

Me... I'm gonna put Brad Pitt or something above my name.

I also see a poll coming on....

(polls coming back with v2 of the site everyone).

There's loads to do around here Antony. For a start everyone can come and see me in 'Calamity Jane'. It's being performed in about two weeks.

Right, that's Dean's profile done accordingly. Everyone tell him what a good looking boy he is.

Antony, it's a broken link man, there is no file to match the picture you specified.

May Valen be with you.

I know I'm not an organiser, but as I said if they get the opportunity....even for a laid back vacation I think they'd have a great time.

I just wanted to get some cheer back onto this board *smiles*

Now as for cons....I hear of the Best of Both Worlds...Armageddon...not that many. But I do know thatover the past few years some small cons in Auckland and Wellington have managed to get Steven Biggs, and characters from Star Trek DS9, Buffy, Angel...

Most recently there was a con were James Marsters and Emma Caulfield, and Brian Thompson attended.

That, of course, doesn't apply to me.

BTW, you all can come to Colorado as well, it's a rather nice place, weather's great, and so are the people, especially me.

Sheridan: Are you trying to cheer me up?
Ivanova: No sir, wouldn't dream of it.
Sheridan: Good, I hate being cheered up. It's depressing.
Ivanova: So in that case we're all going to die horrible, painful, lingering deaths.
Sheridan: Thank you, I feel so much better now.

Hey, if this is turning into a general invitation thread, why not come to Estonia while you're at it?

I'm sure there is... uh, there must be something here worth seeing!

Beaches are great, but nothing beats NY in the autumn for sheer fantastic beauty.

But cross your fingers for me, people, because depending on how a certain grant goes... I might spend next year doing postgraduate work in Canberra. Let's hope! (I'll take your invitation, Zoriah, even though I'm not B5LR cast

Come on - all of your headshots generate enough spark to power a small country for a solar year.

God, Oz B5 cons. That takes me back.
smile.gif

I think the first would've been back in late 96 (just guessing), Parliament of Dreams in Brissie. Guests were Jerry Doyle and Andrea Thompson. Rumor has it that they doubled their appearance fee just days before the Con began. The organisers reluctantly agreed to pay. Nasty stuff!

I think the next was Event Horizon 2 in Brisbane in mid 97. We had Michael O'Hare and Sandy Bruckner. We tried to get JMS, but he couldn't justify making the trip to see only a small amount of fans.

Year after that was Conquest with Peter Jurasik, again in Brisbane, and the BoBW cons started down in Sydney.

Looks like BoBW have dropped B5 in favour of Stargate and Buffy stuff now. Chances of seeing another Con down there will be slim for a while. Give it a few years I reckon.

And hey if everyone was in England (presuming thats your bit of the UK Antony) you could nip up to Scotland for a break. We inventede whisky and I live not far from where they make Tennents whic Im told has a great tour and tasting thingy!
