I bet its not a coincidence that the Shadow leave and these guys show up. Perhaps they (the Hand) where driven off by the Shadows, Vorlons, or anothe Firstone? Now that they're gone, they can come back and safely say "Oh, yeah, we're much stronger than them"

Within the show it is said that the enemy ships we see are toys. So even if we do believe the prisoner there is no plot hole here.

Come on guys. I read a lot of stuff about the inconcistency about The Hand easily killed. The reason we *THINK* they are more powerfull than the Shadows is from a prisoner, with a gun on his head, and most likely a slave of THE HAND, that say all that. I would have say the same thing if I was him, trying to impose fear on the crew and maybe save my life. But we still know nothing real about those new bad guys.

Is that make sense ?

True. I've not seen the pilot but from what I've read, it seems that some are jumping the gun a little.
No one knows who or what The Hand really is other than JMS.
