Alias Season 4 Finale

Recoil

Regular
Sucked.

Hard.

I don't even want to talk about how diappointed about how all their storylines since Season 1 weren "ended." I have deep, deep fears for how Lost will turn out now.

I can't even talk about this finale right now....

Gonna put in some

I thought it was an ok finale, no where near as great as the season two finale, but it did wrap up a lot of the Rimbaldi stuff. The last few minutes were interesting, though, I thought. "Well, first of all my name's not Michael Vaughn...." BLAM.

Yes, it wrapped it up alright...and it wrapped it up TERRIBLY.

Don't even tell me that JJ didn't think up that Rambaldi ending about 6 weeks ago. NO WAY was that the ending he had in mind in Season 1, or even Season 2. He pulled that out of his ass just to bring it to a close, and it was a terrible close. Hell the 2 hour episode and this one didn't even FEEL like an episode of Alias.

I felt like I was watching some B-movie about Zombies and the end of the world. It felt like Resident Evil 3...

I laughed. The ending was hilarious! "Well, first of all, my name isn't Michael Vaughn" WHAM! That was awesome! I have to admit, I'm sort of curious what Vaughn's secret is, afterall, Irina apparently knows it, and still gave her consent for marriage.

Though I have to admit the plot of the episode was weak ... and zombies? WTF? But Lena Olin was back, and there's just something magical that happens to the show when she's on it. She and Victor Garber have this awesome chemistry, that they could read phonebooks and I'd be watching entranced. So, yeah, substandard plot, but made up for by character interactions.

Oh, I agree Recoil: I don't think the way things were wrapped up re: Rambaldi is what JJ oringially planned on doing. I will always wonder how much Lena Olin not being around to be Irina in season three significantly changed the story and how it was going to evolve.

And the last episode did have a lot of zombie movie-ishness to it. Add that to the episode near the beginning of the season that was obviously vampire-inspired. Now we need some werewolves.

Yeah Dave, and whatever big secret about this guy calling himself Vaughn has some impact on why he was the person that got assigned to Sydney when she came into the CIA at the end of the very first episode after she found out about SD-6.

As Emily and I agreed earlier today, the guy calling himself Vaughn is using "Michael Vaughn" as an alias. bahDumCHANG!

And yeah, Lena is great. Victor is great too. The two of them together is great. I've been quite squeeful that we got Irina back for the last few episodes this season. Her not being in season three is its biggest weakness I think, next to the presence of Lauren. Lauren was such crap. After a while, it really started to feel as if Alias stopped being about Sydney and started being about Lauren. And it really annoyed me how when Lauren was in villain mode, she would wear black eyeliner, and would wear none when she was in "good" mode; they might as well have just had her cackling like Dr. Evil.

Huh. I stopped watching Alias a while back. Now it seems that I haven't been missing much. I do love Irina Derevko, but a weak ending to the Rambaldi plot? Sign me out!

Man, that ROCKED! You guys forget this is network TV or something? The same network that brings us Desperate Housewives? Poor JJ can only do so much. All in all, I loved it. Nadia kicked ass and that ending made me frackin' jump my ass out of my chair.
