All B5 Fans Should Have This On Their Fridge

channe

Regular
You've all heard this.

Lord, give me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to know the difference.

Thank you.

I just snuck a look a Kosh_N's fridge, and he has a version that says,

"Lord, give me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
The courage to change the things I can;
And the wisdom to bury the bodies of those
I am forced to kill because they pissed me off."

Different strokes for different folks, I guess. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

How'd you get in my house?!? /forums/images/icons/grin.gif /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Hmm, maybe it's Technomage probes. Galen's probably been planting some. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif /forums/images/icons/blush.gif

Naah, I'm far too controlled for that. I just have a really hard time killing off my last shred of hope for things like B5, Crusade and Brimstone. Like a weed or a Keeper, that damn hope keeps growing back. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

I've actually heard both of these phrases before. /forums/images/icons/grin.gif

Back when people mass-emailed people at the office with jokes and the usual co-worker kind of spam.

Then one day the manager of all the internet stuff for our school sent a little email to everyone. /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

I guess it was getting out of control.

"College email addresses are to be used for college business only."

Then all of the fun stopped.

I wonder if there is a website out there wil these old jokes and funny stories.

I'll look for one some day.

One good sign in the office of a secretary is something like:
"your oversight is NOT my emergency".

/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

The first is the "Serenity Prayer" from Alcoholics Anonymous, which dates back quite a ways and is often quoted (although many people have no idea where it came from.) The second is a parody that somebody probably came up with 30 seconds after the original prayer was composed. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

On your fridge. Errm - have you gone on a diet?

Apart from the laws of physics, what can't be changed?

[/quote]
Actually, the laws of physics can be elastic, depending on which dimensions you're in... read the Elegant Universe, by Brian Greene -- Cornell and Columbia professor -- pretty wild stuff....

Did we get Channe's goat yet? /forums/images/icons/cool.gif

I think she is alluding to the long-suffering and disappointment that we B5 fans face. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

It could also apply to everyone we "got to know" on B5, everyone from Zach to G'kar etc, etc.

But yea, it was obvious you meant that this is how the fans should think about all of this.

We just don't WANT to. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

That fun has been outlawed?

I can see it now.

KoshN: "Channe... lighten up a bit."

I personally think that all B5 fans should have salad bar magnets on their refrigerators, but that's just because I'm a little biased. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Just a little biased? /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

BTW, why should one have any magnets on their refrigerator in the first place? /forums/images/icons/confused.gif

If you leave off the "Lord" from that thing (and I doubt Channe was the one who put it there in the original version), it's something that would apply to a lot of people, not just Christians, so I don't think one should call it "spouting off religious banter". /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
