Oh, MY.

So that's why there are only three S2 discs on my Netflix list...

Well. At least I'll get some resolution of the fallout from the first season.

We get the whole set released in the UK next month. They better stick some extras on it this time, we lost out again. (Cue more pointless Brit whinging.... ;))

"FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKKK!"

The above was my reaction to the end of "Pegasus."

It's "Severed Dreams" in miniature with even more emotional punch... and a "to be continued" coming up on the screen just as the shit's about to hit the fan... and it's the last flipping episode of the show released on DVD for months.

I am in awe of this show. Absolute awe. And I want to kill someone. Preferably the guy who decided it would be "funny" to release s2 in two parts, splitting them right at a "to be continued."

I should have known. The preceeding episode didn't end badly or ominously. I should have known that meant some serious shit was coming at us. I just didn't know that the shit would be awesome.

The Kudos List for BSG S2, ep. "Pegasus:"

Kudos to Tigh for getting Pegasus' XO drunk and then sending up the warning flag to Adama.
Kudos to Starbuck for pulling no punches with the Pegasus CAG. ("Your plan sucks." Brilliantly summarized, Kara.)
Kudos to Apollo for sending Starbuck out in the Blackbird.
Kudos to Baltar for admitting his true feelings for Number 6 (even if this kinda does confirm him as an avowed enemy of the human race).
Kudos to Helo and Tyrol for stopping the sadist they had interrogating Sharon. Extra points for killing him, even if it was unintentional.*
And last but not least, massive kudos to Adama. He didn't think twice when he heard the trial was over, he just threw a strike force together and did the right thing.

In other words: our heroes done good.

I predict that Roslin and the rest of the fleet will intervene on Adama's behalf. At least I hope it will. But I'm just gonna have to count the days until the rest of season 2 is available on Netflix. And maybe keep the one disc I have and watch the last episode over and over and over again.

*: You all know me. I am a nonviolent person. I deplore violence. But on occasion I condone it. Helo and Tyrol stopping the rape? Yeah. That's the kind of violence I cheer for. I was about ready to punch the screen myself. If I'd had half a prayer of connecting with the bastard's actual face, I'd have gone in swinging. Of course, he's fictional... and I would have hurt my hand. But it would be totally worth it.

Rape is my hot button; can you tell?

Gosh, no release date on Amazon.com yet for the second half of Season 2. S3 starts in Oct, surely it will be before that, no?

Kudos to Starbuck for pulling no punches with the Pegasus CAG.

Would you have expected anything less? :)

Curious to see your reaction to the post-Pegasus eps...

Surely it will be before that no, is right.

Zaw? My brain just totally pulled a Star Trek evil computer logic breakdown trying to parse that.

Would you have expected anything less?[/i]

Not really. But it was good to see it. I can't wait until Starbuck brings in the photos and the Pegasus CAG comes up empty. I also can't wait until Adama hands Cain her head.

I just did something I don't believe I've ever done before. I watched "Pegasus" again. Within an hour of finishing it for the first time. Really well done. I loved how the signs that "something is not right" kept piling up, starting with Cain's first arrival (accompanined by a heavily armed escort) and just building from there....

Its almost Yoda-speak. His reply "Surely it will be before that? No?" I was using the "No" as the answer to his question. In otherwords, he was right in saying No, it won't be before Season 3 starts airing. Or, to break it down:

Q: Surely it will be before that?
A: No.
My reply: is right.

Dunno, I have used that sort of reply before. I guess it comes across cleaner when you say it instead of typing it.

It is rather good isn't it :)

Sounds like you have a while to wait till you see the next episode which is unfortunate. Are you going to be caught up in time to watch season 3 on TV? Or are you planning on watching it all via renting?

Rape is my hot button; can you tell?

I would hope that rape is most people's hot button.

Do you have cable, KoshFan? According to my electronic program guide, Battlestar Galactica comes on early Saturday mornings at 2am. This coming Saturday, Final Cut is airing, the ep about the reporter coming on board. So I guess in 2 or 3 weeks, you'll be able to pick up where the season left off. And of course, there's always other means of obtaining episodes.

I've just downloaded the series over the weekend. The Pegasus storyline is a nice twist from the original series. So is Scar I beleive,I much prefer the second series to the first.

Battlestar Galactica season 2.5 release date listed on amazon.com is September 19.

Don't know how I missed that. I tried Battlestar and Battle Star both, and only got the mini-series, Season 1, and Season 2 first half. Thanks.

LOL Recoil. Punctuation does make a world of difference when posting on the 'net.

Um.... k.

Anyway, I can't imagine they wouldn't release the DVDs right before season 3. That seems to be the standard way of doing things now.

Netflix has finally turned the 2.5 discs loose! So I've seen the next ep after "Pegasus" at last. But not the one after. Cain and Adama are still circling each other like wolves...

Thing is, I'm incredibly busy this week, so in a way the dsics arrived at a very bad time. I keep telling myself that I'm bribing myself with the eps -- can't watch the second half of "Resurrection Ship" until I've finished a few projects -- but I wonder how well I'm really gonna do with that...

I have now finished season 2.

For the last 15, 20 minutes or so I had no idea where it was going. Fun seeing how everyone had changed just a bit -- although Adama really needs to loose the mustache. I love, love, love that Roslin went back to teaching. It made perfect sense, and she's obviously really good at it. Also, Starbuck looks great with long hair, even if is a wig.

New Caprica looks like a lovely place, really...

And then there were Cylons. Cylons all over the place. Not actively killing anyone, but I'm not sure I trust that; they definitely came loaded for bear, and that usually doesn't lead to hugs and puppies. On the other hand, the "war heroes" were there, so it's probably not as clear-cut as we think.

Can't wait until Adama comes up with something clever and comes back, but all in all, the situation is not good. Not good in the slightest.

Unfortunately I'm not certain I can catch up with Season 3, unless they're available online somewhere.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's a mid-season hiatus where they repeat season three's episodes up to the point of the hiatus, so maybe you could catch them then if you can't find another alternative.

KoshFan, I believe at some point Sci Fi will have a little mini-marathon of season 3 episodes. They did it before they aired the sixth episode of season 2, and again before they continued with the second half of season 2, so maybe you'll get your chance.
