the B5 part could indeed get them sued. But I doubt that the crusade part could considering the history listed under the word "crusade" it is not "owned" by anyone in particular.

But the B5 part, may indeed be considered part of a "logo" or "trademark" or "copyright", it would be interesting to find out. If I have the opportunity I will check it out and see what I can see.

I'm sure that was done to make Suing them almost impossible. The California address, otoh, is probably just the first in a series of people the name will be rented to. Probably all porn sites.

I'd bet it's a couple guys with nice little business finding domain names to "squat" on and renting them out as porn sites in hopes that the "legitimate" owners of the name will buy it back.

Of course, they may get enough B5 fans to sign up that the Porn business pays off.

Well considering the WB site is the bastard child of b5 sites and the best ones (lurkers, this one, etc.) have unusual addresses it's not a big deal. Seems kinda silly to me, even if I was inclined to sign up for a porn site I think being directed to it when I was looking for something else would lessen the likelyhood of signing up. The only advantage would be showing the hit could to advertisers.

I doubt many advertisers put much stock in the hit counts from porn sites. It's pretty well known that most porn sites up their hit counts by automatically starting multiple sessions of each other and themselves whenever a browser tries to Leave. It's a common complaint. You follow a link some porn site has taken over adn find yourself unable to shut the site down except by shutting down your computer because it keeps restarting a new copy of itself every time you exit.

I doubt that WHOIS information would allow for any lawsuits - Russia has *no* form of contract law. (Well, unless you count Mob contracts, in which case the Russian contract is quite efficient...)

However, WB could simply have Network Solutions shut down the domain themselves - they certainly have full legal right to do so as this cybersquatting is clearly in violation of their copyrights.

Well, i agree that the B5 part can get them in trouble, but since JMS also wrote Crusade and all just having that there with the B5 part should let you know that the two are linked. Would sound like a page about both to me. Has JMS himself heard about this bs??? I'd kinda like to know what he thinks about this.
