RIP Rene Auberjonois

https://www.washingtonpost.com/local...d9e_story.html

I was sad to hear about his passing away today. Ironically, I had just finished re-watching the 'Boston Legal' series last week. He was always great in everything I've seen him in from 'Mash' and 'Benson' to 'Deep Space Nine'.

Re: RIP Rene Auberjonois

I met him at the Wolf 359 convention in Blackpool. Despite being a B5 convention he was the lone guest flying the flag for Deep Space Nine. During his talk he walked up and down the aisle between the audience, and saw us and remembered us from his autograph queue, which I thought was a really nice touch. He seemed a really nice guy and Odo was probably the best character on DS9. It's really sad news – and also about Aron Eisenberg not long back.

Never met him. I dropped DS9 and VOY in Sept. 1996 when I found B5. The last Star Trek convention that I attended was back in the TNG days. About the only thing I remember about that con. was that Spiner was a bit of a jerk and Dorn was very gracious and a nice guy and made sure that everybody got autographs.
