they had a marathon and I thunk ALL RIGHT! i can see what truth is really out there...

so I watched SEVERAL eps... /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif oh it was horrid...

muddling thru each ep trying to figure out if this is the ep where they said something!

NO! so they did the psychic law and order thing..bfd...who cares.??

then there is the CSG....who in the FRELL came up with that bullshit name???

ok so the plot is the aliens are going to anialate the planet... UM IS THAT REALLY A NEWS FLASH?? is that really a POINT??

GOD didn't we see that in the EARTH FINAL CONFLICT>???

and whats up with mulders sister?? first she's taken by the aliens, then she's just dead?? wtf??

ok ok ok! so I don't get the x files..i think there should SHOULD SHOULD be more than what it is...

what am i missing?? what is the PLOT?? is there a plot??

Don't go judging The X-Files before you start watching from the beginning! Just because Sci-Fi doesn't seem to want to show them in ORDER shouldn't give you the idea that it sucks. It's a solid series, for the most part. The plot was pretty damn good for the first several seasons, but, in my opinion, it really tripped over itself after Mulder vanished.

I must agree with both of you. It was good in the beginning sucked at the end but if you go back and watch the eps there are too many contradictory story lines. And too much is left unanswered. Like JMS says ... if you show a gun in act 1 you have to use it by act 3. X files had so many guns that never were used or were just dismissed. eh whatever

X-Files used to be a really good show. I think it started going down when the conspirators were all killed by the faceless aliens. After, everything went downhill, especially when Scully had her kid. I liked her character because she had a strong personality, but after her kid, all she did is whine and cry. I know, I know, she just had a kid, but you'd think she'd go back to her old self in the 2 years after she had the kid. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

You had bad day...?

I was the same, I watched the X-Files when it premiered, the same friday as The Adventures of Brisco County Junior (awww..what a Friday night I had). It was a great, new show and I watched it religiously the first few seasons but when it came to Skully's baby I just wasn't interested anymore. It was getting bogged down by alien conspiracies and hard to follow. I still understand some of it.

Here's an example of a show that should have ended before it actually did. I think everyone would have enjoyed it better because the show wouldn't have had time to go so far downhill. And to say the X-Files used to be my favourite show. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Last couple seasons were mad weak, especially when Mulder was out of the series for that bit. I think it started going downhill when those aliens killed the Syndicate guys.

Yeah, I used to watch that when I was 12 or so, I quite enjoyed it back then.

X files really has been going downhill since S4 ended. We're a third of the way thro S6 here and its becoming really excruciating!

Not me, not anymore. When watched from the beginning, the first few seasons are good, but after that, it becomes clear that Chris Carter didn't know where he was going with it (unlike JMS with B5), and was just winging it, and it became an exercise in frustation. There are quite a few good standalone episodes though.

I did. That was my kick-ass Fridays..Brisco and X-Files. Bruce Campbell was also in the season 6-#6 episode "Terms of Endearment".

I've never been able to stand Charles Nelson Reilly, and the whole episode seemed like filler. Blech, ptui!

I was picking standalone episodes, non-arc.

Non-arc. I can dig that.

But.... filler? Nay, not filler! Funny! Funny stuff! I mean, Mulder's high pitched squeal was hilarious. And the pie scene.... Classic. Not to mention Jessie Ventura and Alex Trebek.
