Babylon-5 Shuttles & the Battlestar:Galactica?

Well if you want to get technical.

The Death Star was not a space station by any means.

It was a giant starship.

Of course, then again so was Babylon-4.

It would look good in the disco glitterball style although I'd have to have the stormtroopers wearing flairs though :D

Anyway it's a mobile battlestation ;)

It can travel interstellar distances with relative ease.

Thus, it's a starship by definition.

Any kind of station is supposed to be "stationary".

Hence the term.

You don't have to come to that assumption. You can conclude that ships, troops and assault equipment are permanently "station"ed there and that is where the name comes from.

Stationery moves :p

You probably shouldn't stay still while at battlestations either :p

As for television stations :p

However in this case the word station would be used as in a military base term and would therefore correctly recieve the name mobile battlestation.

:)
