Can't believe nobody has posted this here yet. John Hughes, who made so many legendary movies in the 80s, passed away yesterday at only 59. I think he is a big part of how the 80s felt and what the 80s were. He was one of the first writers to really connect with the young, angsty, teenage crowd via his movies. Others who have sort of taken his torch these days (like Judd Apatow), while being talented, just miss the mark by a bit.
He will be missed.
