A few times we see emails that really hit on our situation in life. This is one of them.

Note on Riding a Dead Horse:

The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says that when you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount. Modern organizations often employ a whole range of far more advanced strategies, such as:

* Buying a stronger whip.
* Changing riders.
* Threatening the horse with termination.
* Appointing a committee to study the horse.
* Arranging to visit other countries to see how others ride dead horses.
* Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included.
* Re-classifying the dead horse as "living, impaired".
* Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse.
* Harnessing several dead horses together to increase the speed.
* Providing additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horse's performance.
* Doing a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse's performance.
* Declaring that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, it is less costly, carries lower overhead, and therefore contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do some other horses.
* Re-writing the expected performance requirements for all horses.
* Promoting the dead horse to a management position.
.

From the general discussion "Riding a dead horse": The quotation icon doesn't work correctly for quoting. It should present a non attributed quote (unlike quoting another member). The quote verbage looks correct, however it only leaves the tags. It doesn't box it like it should. Wonder if something is up in the script.

Above is a combination of that quote and quoting myself, so you may find it more helpful to go to the original to see exactly what it is doing.

management position.[/
.

This is how you close a quote? The extra [/ ?

The quotation icon should and does put in the right verbage

Well that bites, it did right this time. And just went back and took out the extra [/ and the quote was ok. Can't believe I omitted something, but oh well, now I look normal again.

Yeah, sets a bad precident.

thanks Antony
