Let's say JMS made a racist comment: Who cares? It's not like he is a saint or something. He is just a guy, if he didn't slip now he could slip anytime. Nobody is perfect. Jeesh.

mmm... I don't know Darth Librarian, or if he's English. It's wasnt meant to be a jab or anything. I'm just trying to say that all the time people say things, and they let it go. It's hipocrisy to get the high ground with JMS now.

The location address beside the quoted text said London UK so Darth Librarian was known to be English. This was just a second person joining the trolling.

Perhaps you missed the meeting, but I am a Caucasian. Britain is still
considered for the most part, at least, an Anglo-Saxon nation.

You find ONE SINGLE post from me where I say anything using racist

I'm telling you straight up, Paul: put up or shut up.

You have published damaging, defamatory, libelous comments about me now
at some length here, using inflammatory terms like racism because I
said that YOU were not making sense "even for a Brit." That is the
SOLE basis of your accusation...and it's a lie. It's a filthy lie, and
it's legally and factually untrue. And there have already been several
successful prosecutions against those who engage in a reckless
disregard for the truth when libeling someone on the internet.

So either you produce an actual racist comment...or apologize for
running my name through the gutter...or resign...or prepare to defend
yourself in court. And I hope you have the cash on hand to defend what
is a completely indefensible position, because you're going to have to.

I mean it. I have already retained an attorney in London.

I see that JMS agrees with me on the definition of "race".

But since JMS was called a racist first, by the traditional rules of race-baiting, he is a racist and "Paul" is immune from being called a racist. Ah, well. :rolleyes:

By the way, could the mods engage in some revisionism and re-name this thread to "Brit"- comment from JMS or some such? I don't want "racist comment" to be in the topic list. It's misleading in my opinion.

The legal move was a bit harsh, were I JMS I would let go, but I guess this guy would not shut up, and he has a preofesional rep to consider... Anyway, i guess we should let his slide...

That was kind of what I thought when I heard about this. They are ending happy hour, so in effect putting prices up and gaining more profits and they get praised for this! :confused:

Isn't the making more profit assuming the same people will show up and drink whether or not there is a happy hour?

Especially considering the anger that has been voiced here, it seems to me they might lose money over this.

Piling on Sin taxes do not reduce sales. I don't see any reason to believe that no longer lowering prices for Happy Hour will cut into profits, especially since you need to sell less, since the profit margin is higher. Additionally, most happy hours also have an investment of a snack food buffet (Chicken wings, cheeses, lunch meats, etc) by the establishment, as well.

This all depends on how Happy Hour works. Do more people drink because prices are lower, in which case they will lose those drinkers; or do the drinkers choose the pubs that have a Happy Hour over those that do not. By acting as a cartel they all up their prices up at the same time so the drinkers will simply have to choose on other grounds.
