The Open Championship

:D My guess is we're talking golf!

I am curious as to which two sports you put in front of it, though. Personally, I like baseball first (BIG Red Sox fan), then golf, and then football (Pats).

okay list.

1. football, real football...or soccer as you colonial chaps call it.
2. rugger, union that is league is cool, but i was raised on union.
3. golf.
4. cricket.

CH how can you say that about cricket man, there aren't many things in life which are better than a five day test.

The only thing duller than golf is other people's weather.

I know it's not for everybody but I like golf. I'm not "good" at it by any means, but every once in a while, I get lucky. I'll hit it j u s t right, then stand there speechless watching it just :D s o a r... !

:DThat's when it's cool!

Believe me,if I really said what I thought about that girlies game where they where armour and don't even hit each other it would soon be moved to it's right place ;)

I'm sure this should be in General :p

Criket is a game for those dependant on Viagra

Spoken like a man who hasn't been hit in the unmentionables/head/shin/funny bone by a solid ball bowled at 80mph+. :p

Only because I don't play girlie upper class games :p

Seeing someone get hit in the balls by another ball travelling at 80MPH is the only entertainment in the game, wearing armour spoils that :p

I can see wearing protection against that. Sadly, a fine minor league baseball coach just died quite recently over here. Hit in the neck, I believe, by a line drive when standing in the first-base coaching area.

Man, that was so sad. :(

Sorry, but I think it's a bit... childish... to make fun of this and call it "girlie".

Oh, but I won't EVEN get started on society's subliminal messages taught to us from the day we are born about how to act "like a man" or "like a woman". That debate has been done to death. :p

You should read some of the stuff on women boxers.

Girls play rounders without crying for protection.

Girlie might not be the right word but neither is poofy.

Lets just say it is crap ;)

 I see about all sports as the same, only some are a bit faster and when I have to watch, those are what I prefer.

And yea, there are some tough ladies out there.

And perhaps the word you were looking for is "wimpy"? :)

Yea, some football players almost make me think they want to retire in to sumo wrestling.

But hey, if bowling is considered a sport, it could change the whole was we consider the phrase "athletic figure". :)

Hmm, side note in this thread which is in the wrong forum...

I gather one of the big American racers just got disqualified for a race award for having bad blood tests, or whatever. After hearing that constantly with Lance Armstrong, it seems to be right back again with the new big-name bike racers.

Are they all really doping that much? Or are these test not exaclty perfect?

Nope definately girlie and poofy :p

Although quite a few so called players look like the've had to many burgers

i'd love to see you call beefy or tuffers a girl or poof, even these days.

simply put cycling is chock full of dope cheats. i once heard some expert type dude say the shock would be a clean entrant winning the tour de france not a doped one.
