DVD Sales: How's it going?

DVD Sales: How\'s it going?

Does anyone (Joe?) have any info on how the DVD has sold so far? Where do these kinds of sales reports get published?

They don't. The studios consider this kind of information trade secrets and don't want their competition to know how their discs are doing. (Although everybody ends up with a rough idea - inside the industry.)

Sometimes they'll publish figures for the best-selling disc of a given week, or one that sets a new sales record, but this kind of bragging aside, you won't find the figures released publicly, anymore than ratings details are released beyond the top shows, or demographics pretty much at all.

Even if we did know the raw sales numbers, it wouldn't tell us anything.

We don't have any idea what kind of numbers Warner Bros. is looking for, or what number would equal a "go" in their eyes.

So we're just going to have to wait and see what we see.

Sorry.
