Jeremiah on UKTV

Hey guys,

just wondered if anyone had any clue as to why last night's episode (Tripwire) was pushed back to 1:50am from its usual 10:00pm slot.

I had left the VCR on timer to record it, and it was a good job I wandered in halfway through and spotted that it was actually Ibiza Uncovered instead otherwise I wouldn't have known to reset it for that ridiculous time of night.

Surely it can't be that no one is watching it!

:( :( :( :(

Yeah, it's getting anoying now - Jeremiah is one of the few shows I watch on TV now and they keep changing the time :(

My TV mag said it was on at 1am (or there about) so when I sat down to wtach it last night I discovered that I has recorded Voyager instead  Looks like t will be repeated on Friday night (well, early Saturday morning)

That's really annoying! B5 always had a higher-per-capita fan base than over here in the US of A, so I don't know why they'd mess around with a new JMS series. Especially an episode like "Tripwire"... its kind of the "Signs of Portents" of Jeremiah's season 1.

Sorry to hear you're getting the run around on the other side of the ocean!

Regards,

-Tim

I just heard about the schedule change from my source last night but they didn't say why it was moved to 1:50am. :(

It does seem like a difficult schedule to keep track of with the pre-empting of that Michael Jackson special which really threw the schedule out of whack. Could the war coverage be screwing with the schedule this time? I know it has here in the states with certain shows.

It really is irritating that they keep screwing up really good episodes too. :(

Hmmm ...

wonder if Sky One is getting a little jumpy about anything involving military bases, men (and women) with guns, and the occasional chemical protection suit, given what is happening in Iraq at the moment.

Never figured them for sensitive types!

Nothing as important as that I'm afraid. The show got moved because of an "Ibiza Uncovered" Special! Can you beleive that - a quality show gets moved for a reality TV show  Grrr, I don't like reality TV at the best of times

I think that 1:50am is the shows new time on Sky 1. That's the time it's on next week too (31st March).
Sky did this with Odyssey 5, too. Which, of course, got cancelled. I only hope Sky hasn't decided to drop the series or we'll miss out on season 2.

Then I guess I was wrong with my original statement - looks like nobody is watching it after all. That seems the only logical explanation for moving it from 10:00pm to 1:50am.

There's no accounting for taste is there?

:(

This is not a good sign at all I am afraid. Maybe it is due to the subject matter so SkyOne decided to move it to an even later time slot. Or, maybe it is simply due to ratings.

Does SkyOne release ratings information?

PS: I updated my schedule page with this latest schedule change.

I don't think it's content related. As far as I can tell, Sky are showing Jeremiah on Sky Mix at 10pm (oddly, the Sky listings site does not list Sky Mix!). Sky Mix is ONLY available through their satellite service, it is not available through a cable provider. Most people I know, myself included, use cable.
It's either bad ratings or, and I think this is unlikely, the ratings are hugely good and they are trying to tempt people to move to their satellite service. If Sky were trying to get people to move to their satellite service, they'd move other higher rated shows than this, like Stargate or Enterprise, or their garbage soft porn nonsense which seems ever so popular.

Now this does annoy the tits off me. They're now showing it on Sky and here I am at uni 200 miles from my beautiful shiny Sky box :(

The fact they have replace it's 10pm slot with Ibiza Uncovered insults me. Replacing an intelligent, well, written, thought provoking program with a bunch of drunken idiots - where is the sense in that? Is the majority of the Sky One audience really this sad? How people watch this trash is beyond me!

There, that's my rant for now ;)

You are forgetting that the most popular "newspaper" in the UK is "The Sun". So, as the majority of the UK population is that stupid, it only stands to reason that the majority of Sky One viewers are also that stupid!
:)

Take a look at the totality of Sky One's output, and I think you can probably answer your own point here. Ibiza Uncovered, The Villa, Temptation Island, Mile High, Hotter Sex (always thought it was odd that that followed straight on from Jeremiah but there you go!), Naked in Blackpool ... need I continue.

Same thing happened over at Bravo ... they started showing B5 in a prime-time evening slot and it bombed and was replaced by Combat Missions.

Truth is, people don't seem to watch Sky/Bravo/any number of other channels for intelligent, well-written, thought-provoking programmes, so they soon get shuffled off to the middle of the night, leaving the way clear for T&A all the way through to bedtime, and those of us interested in the intelligent stuff madly hoping that there is no last minute change which means our carefully set VCR has caought Voyager rather than Jeremiah.

Go figure.

Someone forwarded a reply from SkyOne to me which I thought I would share:

Jeremiah was subject to a general schedule change. Unfortunately, there is no information available at present regarding season 2 of this series.

No information?? It is coming you guys and we will be seeing it later this summer. I hope they are not confusing this with O5. :(

Here is their complaint email to let them know what you think of the schedule changes: ViewerR@bskyb.com

Seems Sky One want to shaft UK Jeremiah viewers even further. After shifting Jeremiah to 1:50AM on a Tuesday morning from 10PM Monday night, they've now decided, it seems, to not even bother showing it then. If you don't get Sky Mix, as I don't, you're now left with Jeremiah on Sky One on Saturday at 3:55AM only. This weeks epsiode appears to be "Out of the Ashes". I hope we actually get to see all of the last 4 of the season. :(

becoming a late fan of jeremiah i was hoping that sky one would repeat jeremiah before season two started. i contacted sky one for info and this is what they said:-

This series returned to the Sky One schedules on 3/3/03, broadcasting on Mondays late nights, continuing from where it left off. Sky have no plans at present to broadcast this entire series.

The first decent new show in a while and it gets treated like crap!

Interesting ... Jeremiah was down at 1:50am today according to both the TV mags we get as well as our on-screen programme guide ...

so do I take it from this that my carefully set VCR will have recorded something else entirely last night?

Man, sometimes I hate being a Brit ...

No, they did show it last night - I watched the tape this morning (the first 25min of it anyway).

At least there's one advantage to it being shown in the small hours; there's only ten minutes worth of adverts for sex chat lines to edit out! Last night included one for something called "Celebrity Shag Match", which sounds like something out of a Roger Mellie cartoon but is in fact Sky's latest offering for Friday evenings. I think that says it all really ......

(hint for Americans - it ain't a dance contest )

I'd better stop before I start advocating illegal file sharing or something!
