Re: Pirates of the Carribean 3 (SPOILERS - moderate, for now)
I saw it yesterday, and while the plot was a bit too convoluted, I still liked it better than the second. It's fun summer popcorn entertainment, but hardly a cinematic masterpiece.
If you go see it, do stay for the scene at the end of the credits!

It doesn't really matter too much what other people think of the films I like. I know a lot of people detest "Signs" with a passion... but I happen to like it.

Re: Pirates of the Carribean 3 (SPOILERS - moderate, for now)
I stayed for the last scene (like all of five seconds long) after the credits for the second movie. Personally, I didn't find it worth the wait for one little laugh. Besides, such footage would be put in with the DVD I figure. If it's that funny, I'll catch it as a rental.

In this movie, the scene is quite a bit longer, and a lot more relevant to the plot.
A lot more stupid too, IMHO

Re: Pirates of the Carribean 3 (SPOILERS - moderate, for now)
Well, I liked it because I suspended my disbelief by the neck until dead, because I know the first two movies like the back of my hand, and because I'm a sucker for doomed romance and longstanding fidelity.
Yeah, it got quite confusing for a while but I just sort of went with it; I knew the various alliances would wind up rather pointless in the end anyway, so why keep track? Just enjoy the ride. It's supposed to be silly and over the top.
Also I predicted a few plot points several hours in advance, so I was pleased with myself.

Er... I seriously doubt I'll be renting this in the very near future. Maybe in 10 or 15 years, if it's still available somewhere.
