well okay, heres the thing. the spectrum of light emitted from the sun peaks in what we know as the visable spectrum. this isnt a coincidence, because our visable spectrum evolved around this... in other words, we evolved to match the sun. so if we went to another star system whos sun peaked at another point in the spectrum (i think thats what youre asking) then we could still see because thats just the peak... suns, like all blackbodies, emitt light pretty much all over the spectrum, they're just strongest in certain areas.

um... did i answer your question or did i miss the point completely?
